Tuesday 1 APRIL 2014 My host has done it again!!!! Can't connect to my site and can't use my FTP. This is a PAIN!!!! Jason is going to start tomorrow on moving everything to a new host... I've had enough!! Then as if that wasn't enough... my 4Shared account is reading all my files as "invalid". If this was an April Fool joke I still woudn't be laughing! ***************************** The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ruled Japan must immediately stop its whaling program in the Antarctic. WOO HOO!!!! About time!! The court's judges agreed with Australia that the Japanese research - two peer-reviewed papers since 2005, based on results obtained from just nine killed whales - was not proportionate to the number of animals killed. "In light of the fact the JARPA II [research program] has been going on since 2005, and has involved the killing of about 3,600 minke whales, the scientific output to date appears limited," presiding judge Peter Tomka of Slovakia said. The ICJ's ruling is final and there will be no appeal. A spokesman for the Japanese government said the court's decision was "deeply disappointing". "We are deeply disappointed and regret that the court ruled that Japan's research whaling program in the Antarctic did not fall within the special permit clause of the treaty," spokesman Nori Shikata told ABC NewsRadio. "However Japan will abide by the judgement of the court that places a great importance on the international legal order and the rule of law. "We will abide by the decision of the courts and although we will consider a concrete future course of action very carefully, upon studying what is stated in the judgement, we will cease the current research whaling program in the Antarctic pursuant to the judgement. "This is a final verdict and we are saying in a very straight forward way that we will abide by the judgement of the court." I hope they're being honest about this! More than 10,000 whales have been killed since 1988 as a result of Japan's programs. |

Friday 4 APRIL 2014 In the last 3 months I've had access to my site 60 days out of 90!!! I'm totally sick of being blocked by the new server my Host is using. |
Thursday 10 APRIL 2014 Another joyful week (NOT) of spending hours and hours uploading missing folders... 42+ hours so far!!!! My fingers, wrist and shoulder on my right arm hurt like hell. I started by doing a mass upoad... went to check it when finished and discovered that I had forgotten that I have sub folders that shouldn't be uploaded.. they're only for my use when doing corrections. So........ I had to go through every uploaded folder and delete the unnecessary ones. Plus I had uploaded Supplies ZIPS which are already stored on 4Shared so they had to go. So after that I had to upload each folder individually...BOOOOOOORING!!!!! Jason has found the database for the Forum and is working on uploading that to the new server (Host). My regular Artistry web pages have been on and off over the past few days. |
Thursday 17 APRIL 2014 Another extremely tiring week thanks to my "soon to be EX HOST"!!! All pages are available at the moment but I'm not holding my breath. They eventually recovered the Forum but in doing so also recovered all my folders from THEIR last backup from 17th March. Sooooo all the time I spent recovering everything myself (46+ hours) was a total waste of time. I had to update everything once more from the 17th of March. I'm so tired with all of this. Jason has created the Forum on the new Host site BUT it's a mess... not his fault... it's not an easy job.
Looks nothing like our forum because all the sections are not separated,
they all appear on the one page so all sections can be accessed by anyone registered. OK.. maybe he needs a break.... tough!!! Take one when he's got my forum up and running!!! OK.. that's my bitchin' done for this week. *S* My creativity has gone out the window lately because of all the hassles with the site. |
Thursday 24 April 2014 I got reconnected on Tuesday. Jason is transferring my folders to the new site... there's lots of them.. Jared (grandson) started the extra work on Tuesday with the Fisheries. Me... I've kept busy creating tutorials since I couldn't access anything. |
Wednesday 30 April 2014 Japan is threatening to hunt whales in the Pacific Ocean! So much for the agreement made earlier this month!!!!! BLOCKED AGAIN from my site! Everyone else can access it BUT NOT ME!!! Makes it impossible to update ANYTHING! |

Saturday 3rd May 2014 Been pouring on and off for the last 2 days ... a welcome relief. Jason went huntin' this morning... no luck thank God! I feel for the pigs and am always happy when he comes home empty handed. *S* Looks like I'll have to purchase the current setup for the Artistry Forum. The old version won't work on the new server even with updates (which cost only $20 less than the new version ) would be a lot of extra work. STILL BLOCKED FROM MY SITE! |
Sunday 4th May 2014 The weather has changed considerably in the last week... it's COLD!!!! Which makes me happy BUT couldn't get warm when I went to bed. So... haven't had any decent sleep in the past few days. I knew we had a double feather doona somewhere here... looked for it last year with no success. But I was determined to find where my mother (who passed away in 2008) stored it. I've pulled cupboards apart in the past looking for it. I got Jared (grandson) to drag some suitcase out of his wardrobe (used to be Mum's room) and hallelujah!!! It was in the last one we opened!!!! So it went on my bed immediately!!! |
Monday 5th May 2014 Another day... no access to my web!!!! I've sent TEN emails to TMH International in the last few days and they've been ignored! If anyone reading this is considering a host for a web site GIVE THIS (US based) COMPANY A BIG MISS!!!! Had a super night's sleep!!!!!!!!! Jason woke me up at 9am but I didn't get up... too warm and comfy! Eventually got up at 10:10am *S* Looks like Jason decided to purchase the UPDATE for my forum to save me money. It cost $209 and put a hole in my Paypal account balance! Thank you TMHI... not only have you cost me time wasted in the past 6 months, you've cost me extra $$$$$$! |

Tuesday 6th May 2014 Good news today... the ulcer under my middle toe, left foot is healed!!! No dressing needed.. yippee!!!! There's still a hard lump under the toe but no weeping. |
Wednesday 7th May 2014 Have been trying to call the Brisbane hospital since Monday to confirm my appointment. Every day got a recorded message "the lines are congested, please try again later."!! I gave up and found an email addy to contact them. Lucky I did... my appointment had been cancelled because they hadn't heard from me, but the time was still available and I've been rebooked. I've decided to have my toes straightened. The ulcers under my toes on my left foot have healed!!! Yippee!! Just one on my right foot to take care of now. Still hurts when I walk because of the lumps left under my toes but not as bad as before. |
Thursday 8th May 2014 Got up this morning... straight to my computer.... NO INTERNET!!! Soooooo.... went through... unplugged the router.... waited.... plugged it back in. Checked my computer... still no internet... So I phoned my internet server.... recorded message "all lines are busy.. please hold etc..." So I waited and waited and waited and after 45 minutes finally got through. The guy at the other end was getting too technical for me so I let Jason handle it. When he finished about 1/2 an hour later he said it looks like we need a new router...grrrr!! So I parted with some cash I'd been saving for my next trip to Brisbane. In the meantime he picked Jared up from work. Jared went straight on to Facebook...AND IT CONNECTED!!!! Got my money back from Jason!!! I have a feeling someone has put a gigantic HEX on me.... No-one has this many problems... only ME! If it was happening to anyone else I wouldn't believe them. |
Friday 9th May 2014 Doctor's appointment this morning... all results perfect, even the Thyroid test she threw in for good luck this time. If my exterior was as healthy as my interior I'd be happy! Of course because we talk too much about all sorts of things I forgot to ask for a Travel Form for the 20th May when I go to Brisbane. Will get Jason to pick it up on Monday so I'll get reimbursed for expenses. Took them over a month to refund me the last time :-( |
Saturday 10th May 2014 Grocery shopping.. need I say more. Was wiped out after shopping, scanning and putting everything away. Fortunately I don't have to make dinner otherwise we wouldn't be eating. |
Sunday 11th May 2014 Mother's Day! Just like any other day here. Nothing special not even a card. |
Monday 12th May 2014 Made it through the weekend without being disconnected. |

Wednesday 14th May 2014 Clive Palmer has been caught napping during debate today over last night's Joe Hockey budget. Mr Palmer will come under fire for his napping, especially given his record of failing to attend Parliament or Question Time. Mr Palmer said he has had a very busy day, that has included about 38 interviews and a lunchtime speech. "I went a bit sleepy,'' he admitted after starting about 2am. Critics of the Coast MP say he has been spending much of his time outside of the electorate, including living on the Gold Coast and attending Palmer United Party functions across the country. The Sunshine Coast resort owner has a ruthless schedule which often sees him criss-crossing the country in his $70 million jet. He often survives on as little as three or four hours sleep, during which he has a sleep apnoea machine on. |
Mr Palmer may well sleep... I assume he found the Budget BORING since he's a MULTI BILLIONAIRE it won't affect him personally. | |
Tuesday 20th May 2014 We had an uneventful trip, so much so that by the time we were 250km from Brisbane I fell asleep! When I woke we only had 59km to go. The traffic was 'full on' by the time we got to the outskirts BUT it was 'moving' this time. All was going well for a change. Jason's GPS kept telling us to move into the right lane as we got closer to the hospital.. When we got to the parking station we were lucky to find a space on the 6th floor. Another lift (elevator) up to the 7th floor... checked in and waited. The nurse had to wake me BUT that went well... didn't even have to take my socks off. Got called about 15min later... shown to a room... waited and waited... We had a great deal of discussion about the fact I DON'T want amputation. Then we removed my socks and he suggested getting the 2 toes next to my big toe on my left foot done. Anyway... we finished there and he said I would be notified for a pre-op interview when the time comes. So got hold of Jason and we left. It was some time after 1pm when we left... stopped on the way home for a snack.

Wednesday 21 May 2014 Went to the Wounds Clinic. Told Theresa about the hospital appointment. Then I went to the main hospital reception to hand in my Patient Travel form. How he could tell it was a sprain without an X-Ray is beyond me!! Two days later the Blue Nurse turned up to check on this man and told him to get to the The doctor he saw, after getting the X-Ray told him he had bad news for him.... his foot was broken again! Why did he think it was only a sprain???? He told him HE didn't diagnose a "sprain" .... the doctor (?) he saw in A & E 2 days prior DID! He was called away so I didn't get the rest of the story, but I had time to tell him to write to the Where do these A & E doctors get their qualifications?????? GRRR!!!! Finally my number was called... At least Jason was safe now for not getting a parking ticket receipt... would have been a waste of time. We just have to find out where we pay the toll for going through the tunnel by mistake. I was pooped on Tuesday, lack of sleep so was basically MIA. |
Thursday 12 June 2014 I have an appointment with my local orthopaedic specialist at 9:30 this morning. I better not be sent to the Wounds Clinic like I was the last time I had an appointment with him! I was already at the Wounds Clinic on Wednesday and whatever Teresa is doing isn't working!! A few weeks ago Jason and I had got my leg ulcer to the stage where a scab was over it and Teresa peeled it off! Since then it's gradually become worse. If I play my cards right I might get admitted after next weeks' appointment with her. We talked about how quickly my last leg ulcer healed when I was admitted and put on an antibiotic drip... 3 days and it was healed!! She said she might get a doctor to look at it. It's so damned depressing knowing it could be fixed quickly, but no-one will listen. She also suggested a biopsy and I told her "NO WAY!!! That's why I have this problem now... The original problem was only a little bigger than 1cm until the idiot took the biopsy the last time. I screamed the place down because he didn't give the local anaesthetic time to work before he did it. |
Wednesday 18 June 2014 Went to the Wounds Clinic today... I'm not going back!!!! Theresa got a couple of doctors (surgeons?) to check out my leg ulcer after PAINFULLY removing the dressing she got me to use this past week. Every time it was changed during the week I had to take painkillers. I got no sleep last night because no matter which way I lay the pain wouldn't go. Their solutions.... Next solution... Told him I'm already neurotic about any new 'bruises' or marks on my skin... MY solution... By this time I was in tears.... When I went back to the Wounds Clinic last March I thought Teresa would be happy that the ulcer As a result because of the variety of dressings she's tried since then the ulcer grew... She redressed the ulcer today with yet a different dressing and was going to check my toes. SO... I have decided not to go back! |
Thursday 19 June 2014 My new dressings arrived yesterday afternoon so when Jason comes back from his hunting expedition tomorrow we'll start all over again. My next medical appointment is with my Rheumatoid specialist on July 15. Haven't seen her for 3 years... haven't been on medication for 3 years because that was supposed to help my ulcer heal quicker. Maybe if I had been on something my toes wouldn't have twisted. Who knows... too late now. BUT maybe it will prevent further deterioration. |
Thursday 26 June 2014 I decided not to go back to the Wounds Clinic. To my shock and surprise I got a call from Teresa (the Sister in the Wounds Clinic) yesterday. She was concerned about me after the trauma with the doctors last week and the fact I hadn't turned up for my appointment yesterday. I didn't tell her I wasn't going back... I was too "chicken" at the time because she was being so supportive. She was on my side... but couldn't argue with the doctors at the time. She agrees with me that it would be cost effective, less traumatic and invasive to have me admitted and put on an antibiotic drip. Then if that didn't work I could consider invasive surgery which is more expensive and time consuming. She agreed with the arguments I put to the doctors but I'm guessing it may have cost her her job if she had spoken up. Jason is taking his own good time setting up my new site.... :-( He's been busy working out details for Fair Work Australia re the money owed to him from his past job with the Funeral company. Looks like his ex boss might cough up the money owed but we're not holding our breath. It would be a lot cheaper than going to Court. |
