SUNDAY
17TH MARCH
ST.
PATRICKS DAY
Ummmm..... Shoot...
what happened this month so far???
Oh yes...
BIG NEWS this
month.. My Mum struck it lucky!
She is a crossword
fanatic and enters heaps of competitions.
Well, it finally paid off and paid off in
$'s
This is what she received in the mail *S*
.
CHECK
OUT THE AMOUNT!!!!
Way to go Mum!!!
She
wanted to share her winnings but I
wouldn't agree. In the end I said if
she wanted to part with $50 that
would do... So Jared, Jason and
myself got $50 each.
******
As
usual when you have a little one in
your home
life tends not to be dull....
Jared
has been through the wars again!!
He 'slept over' at his friend Nick's
again.
(remember he's the one who's father
is a doctor).
They were supposed to be going to
sailing lessons on the Sunday
morning. Nick's father is one of the
teachers.
Apparently
after breakfast
(with his permission... BIG DEAL)
they went down to the end of his
property to fill in time while they
were waiting for him to get ready to
leave.
(This was at the beginning of March)
Well
Jared got bitten by a snake!
A Tiger Snake (Yes they ARE
venemous!)
Fortunately..
Jared had been bitten before.
when he was in 2nd Grade... he's now
in 5th.
(I say "fortunately" because he knew what it felt like and
he knew that he had to do something
about it as soon as possible.)
So they got back to the house quickly
and
Dr. Dad put a tourniquet on his leg
and left for the hospital. His wife
phoned me to let me know what had
happened and I got ready and took off
for the hospital (Only 5 minutes
away). Jason was working,
so I rang him as well to let him
know.
They
did a swab and found venom, but the
blood test showed it hadn't
penetrated into the wound. It was
only on his skin. However he was kept
in ICU overnight and got off school
the next day.
Here's the pic of all the patches
attached to him..
he took great delight in continuously
setting of the heart monitor. He was
the only one in ICU and was spoiled
rotten!
.
Jared reckoned no one could steal him
because
he was totally wired.
This is his friend Nicholas, visiting him
in hospital.
wishing he'd been bitten too *S*
Mum
and I and Jason took turns spending time
with him
until it was time for sleep.
Then
this week...
He
went to the sailing lessons this morning,
and came home with blood all over his
beach towel!
(Remember... Dr. Dad is responsible for
these kids *S*)
Apparently during a break, he and Nick
had decided to
sit under the Boardwalk
(which ain't too far off the sand level
at the best of times)
and his skull collected one of the
boards.
He ended up with a 1/2 inch gash in his
head,
deep, but luckily not too deep.
As "Punishment" he and Nick had to
clean the boats.
Of course Jared was delighted
because that's what he wanted to do *S*
Naturally
I had to take a photo....
It's not real clear... but you get the
picture <GRIN>
Mum
and I went to a Parent's Forum at the
school last week. Total people
present... including us... 6!!
2 of those were the Principal and the
Head of Primary!
Because the Governor General had been
in the news every day for weeks, it
came up in conversation.
The Principal said that he didn't
approve of the way Howard (the P.M.)
was handling it.
(Remember the GG was an ANGLICAN
Archbishop
and this is an Anglican School)
THEN.....
in the school newsletter we received
this week
the Principal SUPPORTS the GG saying
that he is a good friend of his and
he's not getting a fair deal!!
Hypocrite!!
What
about all those children who didn't
get
"a fair deal"
when the then Archbishop could have
done something about it.. but didn't!
I've
since heard about other things that
are and have gone on in THIS school
and I'm not happy.
I'm particularly not happy about
Jared's education.
We pay lots of bucks for a private
education and they hire teachers with
little experience because they come
cheap! I've been told that one
teacher in particular has only the
qualifications to teach Pre School
but she's in charge of a much higher
grade! I say "in charge of"
as opposed to "teaching" for a good reason.
There's lots more... but I won't bore
you..
The Lutherans are building a new
school in the area
and I'm just waiting for the
Principal to be appointed
so I can have a discussion with him
about moving Jared. Jared doesn't
want to leave his friends... but his
education is more important.. besides
he might be surprised as to how many
of his school chums might be joining
him.
Now
to ME....
I've been really depressed because of
my leg problems and was supposed to
make an appointment with an Arthritis
Specialist in Brisbane.
Well, I haven't! (Sorry Ted!!)
I have however got an appointment
with another doctor just after Easter
for a second opinion.
I don't believe it is
Arthritis.
Of course I could be wrong.
I've never been a big time
prescription drug taker
and have no intention starting now if
it's really
not necessary. That's why I want
another opinion.
I admit I have arthritis in my
fingers and on the days it really
troubles me I take something (Vioxx)
for it. Of course one would think if
the Vioxx helps the arthritis in my
hands then surely it would relieve
the "arthritis" in my
ankle.
WELL IT DOESN'T!!
That's
another reason I'm suspicious as to
what it really is.
I'm
supposed to go for walks... Ha!
That would be fine if I could!
The temperatures have dropped below
30C and
it's perfect for walking but I just
can't handle any distance. Reason
being... because I don't want to put
pressure on my right ankle I favour
my left... then my hips begin to
ache... AAAAARGH!!!
What
a crock!
Even
driving's a hassle of course, being
my right ankle.
The
frustration caused by this in not
being able to do all the things that
need doing around here is driving me
batty. Jason's not much help. I've
had a couple of "run-ins" with him. Then.. that's nothing
unusual. LOL!!
I've
been doing PSP7 classes for the last
6 weeks.
It's been a great experience although
it's been time consuming. I've
learned a lot and made some new
friends and being a glutton for "punishment" am signing up
for the next course in a couple of
months *S*

you want to check out what I've been
learning..

I've
gradually been updating my sites
these past few days... everything
seems to have fallen so far behind.
No doubt you'll be reciving email
advising of the updates real soon.
I forgot.. Mum and I went to see "A BEAUTIFUL MIND" What a
GREAT movie!
I'm sure I've forgotten other stuff
but what the heck... there's heaps
here to bore you all!
<GRIN>
Gotta
go...
Catch you all around Easter!
God
Bless you and keep you all safe.

WEDNESDAY 20TH MARCH
This one's real short... left it too long to remember much of interest.
You know... it's funny... I met a woman I went to College with 11 years ago. Her daughter is going to the same school as Jared. I remembered so many details of our time together, which surprised not only her but me too, including her 'then' boyfriend's name and the fact she had a German Shepherd dog!! BUT ask me what happened last week ago and I struggle.... OLD AGE setting in <Grin>
Found out that a new Catholic school is being built here soon... so it bears looking into when we decide to move Jared. Talking about school.. I have an appointment with his teacher this afternoon to discuss his term results... that should be interesting!
I mentioned in the last newsletter that we'd been to see A BEAUTIFUL MIND ... fantastic movie!!
Russell Crowe is a fantastic actor.
Well since then we've also been to see...
SHIPPING NEWS... O.K. but a bit slow.
I like Kevin Spacey and Judy Dench BUT it was
a bit long drawn.
HEARTS IN ATLANTIS
not what I expected... a little "too deep"
for my liking.
KATE & LEOPOLD... I loved it!.. A "NICE" movie.
I just love Hugh Jackman... he's gorgeous!
At least now I'll know what some of the actors are being nominated for at next weeks' Oscars.
THURSDAY 21ST MARCH
Did the Parent / Teacher Interview thing with Jared's teacher yesterday afternoon. All I'm going to say is.... I'm not impressed!! She's a DRIP!!
Felt like crap all day today.. temperatures back to over 30C. Poor little Jared had to do a practise Cross Country run at school... 1.1 kilometres!
I just wonder what they use for brains at that school.. having the kids (depending on their grade) run up to 2.5kms in the heat of the day!!
It was still 32C at 4:30 this afternoon so it must have been hotter at 11:30am!
Jared said he didn't want to do the 'real' one next Tuesday. So we told him... WALK don't run and if anyone has anything to say about it... tell them to phone me!
WEDNESDAY 27TH MARCH
Last day of school tomorrow... he gets 18 days off
(including weekends) Sheeesh! The other schools go back a week from Monday, Jared goes back 2 weeks from Monday!!
The predicted temperature for the Cross Country day was well over 30 degrees... so I did something I never thought I'd ever do... I let him (jared) have the day off school. He was sick thinking about it.
We did some Maths and English at home though..
so's I wouldn't feel so guilty about it *S*
Did I say Jason finally called it quits (AGAIN) with the ex girlfriend (Hallelujah!!) She's psychotic!
He's sick of her stalking him
Thought this was rather funny
I'm sure I've forgotten other stuff
but what the heck... there's enough here to bore you all
<GRIN>
Gotta go...
Catch you all around Easter!
And if I don't
I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday.
