You will
need the following to complete this
tutorial
TUBES (leaves, Oriental Lady, corner)
HERE
Download and extract
to a folder on your computer.
The 'Deckle Mask'
This is a .psp image because I found the
edges were clearer
than when saved as a .jpg image
HERE
Download and extract
to a folder on your computer.
'LinenPOP.bmp' texture
HERE
Download and extract
to your PSP Textures folder.
'GoldFoil' pattern
download
Download and extract
to your PSP Patterns folder.
Right click and save this 'Glass1'
pattern to a folder on your computer.

Open the TUBES provided in your PSP
workspace
and minimise.
Open the "Glass1" pattern in
your PSP workspace
and minimise.
On your MATERIALS PALETTE
Load solid GREY (#E2E2E2) in the (upper)
foreground box
and
the GOLDFOIL Pattern in the (lower)
background box
Angle = 0
Scale = 100
Open up the 'DeckleMask.jpg'
in your PSP workspace
Open up a new image 350 x 425
Transparent background
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER
LAYER
FLOOD FILL with the GREY foreground
colour
Go to LAYER >>> NEW MASK LAYER
>>> FROM IMAGE
Select the 'DeckleMask.jpg'
Click OK

Go to LAYERS >>> DELETE
Click YES
***********
Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE
>>> MERGE GROUP
GO to EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE
EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE
Locate the 'LinenPOP' texture and use
these settings
With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
Select the transparent area surrounding
your image
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Close Group - Raster 2
and click on Raster 1 to activate
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER
LAYER
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY
>>> CONTRACT = 2
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Flood fill with the GOLDFOIL
(Make sure the gold pattern fills the
area completely,
right up to the edge of the 'marching
ants' nest to the Deckle image)
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY
>>> EXPAND = 2
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
OPEN Group - Raster 2
Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE
>>> MERGE VISIBLE
This would be a good time to save this as
a .psp image for future use.
Go to WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE
Close your saved image.
