Open up the GOLD Pattern provided.
On your colour palette
select PATTERN
and choose the GOLD pattern as
Background.
With you MAGIC WAND
and using the following settings
Select the inner area of the shape.
Go to LAYERS >>> New Raster
Layer
Go to SELECTIONS >>> Invert
Flood fill with the GOLD pattern
Go to SELECTIONS >>> Invert
Go to SELECTIONS >>> Modify
>>> Expand = 4
Go to SELECTIONS >>> Invert
Hit your DELETE key
DESELECT
With you MAGIC WAND
and using the same settings
Select the inner area of the GOLD border.
Go to SELECTIONS >>> Modify
>>> Select similar
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects
>>> Drop Shadow
Use the following settings
Click OK
Repeat the drop shadow
changing the Vertical and Horizontal
settings to - (minus) 1
Click OK
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects
>>> Inner bevel
Use the following settings
Click OK
DESELECT
Go to LAYERS >>> New Raster
Layer
Right click on the title bar of the
"Pull2" tube and
select COPY from the drop down options.
Right click on the title bar of the
"Bell pull" image and
select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION
from the drop down options.
Position the tube at the top of the Bell
Pull shape
Do the same with the "Pull1"
tube
positioning it at the bottom of the 'Bell
Pull" image
Go to LAYERS >>> New Raster
Layer
Select your TEXT tool
Use the following settings
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects
>>> Inner bevel
Use the same settings
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects
>>> Drop Shadow
Use the last setting
( Hor & Vert = -Minus 1 )
Click OK
Position the gold 'link' as shown below
Go to LAYERS >>> Duplicate
Drag the 'link'
which will be directly above the previous
'link'
as shown below
Now we need to ERASE the section circled
in
the image above
Select your ERASE tool
(same settings)
erase the section indicated above
so as to make it look like the links are
joined.
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Close the MERGED Layer
and Layer1 (If it's not already closed)
Go to LAYERS >>> Merge
>>> Merge visible
At this point I would save my BELL PULL
as a .psp (Tube) image
So that the inner (red ) section (Merged
Layer) can be replaced
at any time with a different Pattern

some hints on how to save it

some Christmas Backgrounds that you
