VALENTINE HEARTS

Download the following and EXTRACT them to their relavent folders.

Gold_GD Pattern
Extract to your Paint Shop Pro 'Patterns' folder

Download the
TUBES here and
extract to a folder on your computer

Download the
HSD Heart shape here and
extract to your PSP SHAPES folder.

You will need EyeCandy 3
download

You'll need
Simple Filters

Download and extract to your PSP Plugins Folder.

Right click and save this 'colour swatch' to a folder on your computer

Open a new image 500 x 400
Transparent background

Flood fill with the Pale Blue colour from the colour swatch

Go to LAYERS >>> New Raster Layer


Go to your MATERIALS PALETTE
Load the 'Gold_GD' pattern into your Foreground (Upper) box
Scale =100%
Angle = 0

Load the Purple from your colour swatch into the (lower) Background box



Select your PRESET SHAPES tool
Locate the 'HSD-Heart"
Use these settings



Draw a small heart in the top, slightly left of centre, of your image.
You can use the nodes to make it smaller or larger..
and the centre node will allow you to move the heart as a whole.



With your MAGIC WAND
Settings:
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 18
Sample Merged = UNchecked
Feather = 0
Antialias = Checked
Inside Checked


Go to LAYERS >>> Convert to Raster Layer

Select part of the black heart section
Go to SELECTIONS >>> Modify >>> Select similar



Flood fill the selected areas with the gold pattern.

Go to SELECTIONS >>> Invert
Flood fill the inner sections of the heart with PURPLE
DESELECT







When you are satisfied go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'EYE' on RASTER 1 to close it

Go to LAYERS >>>Merge >>> Merge Visible

Go to ADJUST >>>Sharpness >>> Sharpen More

Change the name of the Merged Layer to 'Heart 1'






With your EYEDROPPER tool
Right click on the 'CREAM" from the colour swatch

Go to LAYERS >>>New Raster Layer

Select your PRESET SHAPES tool
and draw a second slightly larger heart under the first one.

With your MAGIC WAND
Same Settings

Go to LAYERS >>> Convert to Raster Layer

Select part of the black heart section
Go to SELECTIONS >>> Modify >>> Select similar
Use the same settings

Flood fill the selected areas with the gold pattern.

Go to SELECTIONS >>> Invert
Flood fill the inner sections of the heart with CREAM
DESELECT

When you are satisfied go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'EYE' on RASTER 1 and Heart1to close them

Go to LAYERS >>>Merge >>> Merge Visible

Go to ADJUST >>>Sharpness >>> Sharpen More

Change the name of the Merged Layer to 'Heart 2'


Click on the 'EYE' on the 'Heart 1' layer to open it
so you can see how your image looks so far *S*
As you can see I played around with the first heart a bit more
before making the second one.








With your EYEDROPPER tool
Right click on the 'Green' from the colour swatch

Go to LAYERS >>>New Raster Layer

Select your PRESET SHAPES tool
and draw a third slightly larger heart under the first one.


When you are satisfied with it's size and shape go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'EYE' on the 'Heart 1' and 'Heart 2' layers to close them.

Go to LAYERS >>>Merge >>> Merge Visible

Go to ADJUST >>>Sharpness >>> Sharpen More

Change the name of the Merged Layer to 'Heart 3'

Click on the 'glasses' on the 'Heart 1' & 'Heart 2' layers to open them
so you can again see how your image looks so far *S*
(My PSP shut down on me in the middle of this so I had to redo the hearts..
as a result they look slightly different from the previous images)





Open up the 'flowers' tube

Select your FREEHAND (Lasso) tool
Use these settings:




Section off the bud making sure you go in right next to the bud
at the points shown by the red arrows below.




Click once inside the sectioned off area to select the bud.

Click on the title bar and
select COPY from the options.

Go to your LAYER PALETTE and
click on 'Heart 1' to make this layer active.

Go to LAYERS >>> New Raster Layer

Click on the title bar and
select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Slide the bud in between the pink and the purple hearts.

Go to IMAGE >>> Resize = 75%
Make sure 'Resize all layers' is UNCHECKED

DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE and
click on the 'EYE' on'Heart 2' to close this layer.

With your EYEDROPPER tool Right Click on the DARK PINK colour in the swatch.


Select your COLOUR TO TARGET tool
Use these settings



Depressing your right mouse button proceed to paint the bud pink.



DESELECT



Go to your LAYER PALETTE and
click on the 'EYE' on'Heart 2' to open this layer.
Reduce the Opacity on 'Heart 2' to 54%
So you can see through the pink heart.
Make sure 'Heart 2' is active.




Select your ERASER tool
Use these settings:




Erase the sections shown below.

(You will have to ZOOM in to do his)




Go to your LAYER PALETTE and
increase the Opacity on 'Heart 2' to 100%
