This is dead easy because I have all the
'selection' shapes already set up for
you,
all you have to do is colour them *S*
Download the
"Bird" zip HERE
Extract to a folder
on your computer
Right click and save this
"StripePatt" to a folder on
your computer

You will also need
Eye Candy3
Extract to your
Paint Shop Pro 7 /Plugins folder

Open up your "Bird" tube in
your PSP workspace.
Go to WINDOW >>> Duplicate
Close the original image.
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
and you will see that all the sections
are already set up for you *S*

We'll start from the top layer... the
Beak...
Make sure the "beak' layer is
highlighted
Go to your image select the beak with
your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Antialias = 0
Flood fill with RED
Go to EFFECTS >>>3D Effects
>>> Inner Bevel
Use these settings

Click OK
DESELECT
NEXT... Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'feet' layer to make active
Go to your image select BOTH feet with
your MAGIC WAND
while holding down the SHIFT key
Flood fill with RED
Go to EFFECTS >>>3D Effects
>>> Inner Bevel
Use the same settings
Click OK
DESELECT
NEXT... Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'body' layer to make active
Go to your image select the BODY with
your MAGIC WAND
Flood fill with WHITE
Go to EFFECTS >>>3D Effects
>>> Inner Bevel
Use the same settings
Click OK
DESELECT
NEXT... Go to your
LAYER PALETTE
Click on the ''left wing' layer to make
active
Go to your image select the LEFT WING
with your MAGIC WAND
Flood fill with BLUE ( #4C4CAD )
Go to EFFECTS >>>3D Effects
>>> Inner Bevel
Use the same settings
Click OK
DESELECT
REPEAT THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE 'RIGHT
WING'
NEXT... Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'innereyes' layer to make
active
Go to your image select the INNEREYES
with your MAGIC WAND
while holding down your SHIFT key
Flood fill with BLUE
DESELECT
(I added the 'Inner
Bevel' originally... but thought it
looked better
without it... so didn't include it in the
instructions *S*)
NEXT... Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'outereyes' layer to make
active
Go to your image select the OUTEREYES
with your MAGIC WAND
while holding down your SHIFT key
Flood fill with WHITE
DESELECT
NEXT... Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'topfhead' layer to make
active
Go to your image select the TOPOFHEAD
with your MAGIC WAND
Flood fill with BLUE
Go to COLOURS >>> Adjust
>>> Gamma Correction
Use these settings

Go to EFFECTS >>>3D Effects
>>> Inner Bevel
Use the same settings
Click OK
DESELECT
LAST ONE...
NEXT... Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the 'topknot' layer to make
active
Go to your image select the TOPKNOT
(SMALL CIRCLES)
with your MAGIC WAND
Flood fill one with BLUE
AND
Flood fill the other with RED
Go to EFFECTS >>>3D Effects
>>> Inner Bevel
Use the same settings
Click OK
DESELECT
Go to LAYERS >>> Merge
>>> Merge Visible
Go to IMAGE Resize 80%
Make sure "RESIZE ALL LAYERS"
is UNchecked

Centre your image in the bottom section
of your image
with your MOVER TOOL

Go to LAYERS >>> New Raster
Layer
Make sure your Background STYLE box in
your COLOR PALETTE
is set to NULL (Closed)
Doesn't matter what color is in your
foreground box.
Select your DRAW tool
Use these settings

Draw a line across you image as shown
below
THEN from approximately the position of
each "X"
Drag the line upwards to create an arc


Set up your COLOR PALETTE
so that you have RED in the upper
(foreground) box
and
BLUE in the lower (background) box

Click on your TEXT tool
Position your cursor over the curved line
until you see
an "A" with a curve beneath it

then click your left mouse button
Use these settings
Or a text of your own choice..
just make sure it's a 'fat' text so that
both colours will show

Click OK
You can adjust the text by dragging the
'nodes' up and out if you wish
I decided to leave them alone *S*

Go to SELECTIONS >>> Select None
