You can drag this hand down the page with you to keep your place in the tut.




When changing facial expressions using KPT GOO it is best to select an image
with a good amount of hair or a really wide face so that when you animate the image won't "jump".

STEP 1


Open up the
hammer1280.png image in your PSP workspace
WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE
Close the original Image
.


Choose your FREEHAND SELECTION TOOL
Selection Type = Point to Point
Mode = Replace
Feather =
3
Smoothing =
5
Antialias = Checked


Select the face area as shown



STEP 2

LAYERS >>> PROMOTE SELECTION TO LAYER

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> KPTX >>> KPT Goo

Click on the icon indicated to
enlarge the image

STEP 3

Select the MAGNET icon

Set the BRUSH SIZE to 75 pixels

Set the BRUSH FLOW to 23%
NOTE:

If you're not happy with the result at any time while making the changes...
Select the ERASER icon set to a large BRUSH SIZE and
erase the changes.

Start over.
STEP 4

I want to have the image looking up so....

Centre the distortion cursor over the eye as shown

Push UP once towards the top of his forehead.

Change the BRUSH SIZE to 45

Centre the distortion cursor over the eye as shown

We are going to change his line of vision to the right.
STEP 7

Drag the cursor to the right

STEP 8

Repeat this 3 more times

Then centre the cursor over the other eye
and drag to the right at same angle as before
4 times

Click the TICK icon on bottom right of page.


Rename this layer EXP3
STEP 9

Now... let's give him a wicked smile...

Save as a .pspimage

These are the subtle changes.



Minimize for now.

PSP9: Colour Depth = 16 Million Colors (24bit)
PSPX-X8: Colour Depth RGB = 8bits/channel

and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.
