You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials

letter_H.pspimage
fburnettILF-FLOURISH1.png
bluemermaid-Halstenberg.pspimage
js_accents_brown-center_daisies_5052.pspimage
Save to a folder on your computer

Novak Spring.ttf
Save to your WINDOWS >>> FONTS folder
or
to a folder where you store your extra fonts.

NOTE: This is the font used for the "
letter_H.pspimage" listed above.
Since there's too much variance in TEXT settings in higher versions of PSP
I created the letter we will be using here so everyone has the same size letter to work with.

STEP 1

In your MATERIALS PALETTE

Load BLACK ' #000000 'in your foreground
Load Dark Blue ' #1964df ' in your background

Open a new image 800 x 600
Transparent background
PSP9: Colour Depth = 16 Million Colors (24bit)
PSPX-X6: Colour Depth RGB = 8bits/channel


VIEW >>> RULERS

STEP 2

Open up the letter_H image in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your frame image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

STEP 3

EFFECTS >>> IMAGE EFFECTS >>> OFFSET
STEP 4

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE

IMAGE >>> MIRROR

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE DOWN

Choose your SELECTION TOOL
Selection Type = Ellipse
Mode = Replace
Feather = 1
Antialias = Checked

Starting at
400 pixels across and 300 pixels down
drag your cursor to
585 pixels across and 570 pixels down
and release

Flood fill with BLACK
STEP 7

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
EDIT >>> CLEAR

Flood fill with Dark Blue

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 30
EDIT >>> CLEAR

ACTIVATE
Raster 2

EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT


STEP 8

ACTIVATE
Raster 3

In your MATERIALS PALETTE
Change the foreground colour to LIGHT BLUE #abcdfb

Select the GRADIENT option on the foreground..

Choose the "Foreground-background" gradient
and use these settings


STEP 11

ACTIVATE
Raster 1

Flood fill with the gradient

EFFECTS >>> REFLECTION EFFECTS >>>
ROTATING MIRROR

DC Special >>> Rain

IMAGE >>> FLIP



STEP 13

Open up the fburnettILF-FLOURISH1 image
in your PSP workspace
WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE
Close the original Image


Using the duplicated image

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> FLOAT
SELECTIONS >>> DEFLOAT


Flood Fill with YELLOW #fffa00

STEP 14

DESELECT

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your frame image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> BRING TO TOP

PSP9: IMAGE >>> ROTATE >>> FREE ROTATE = RIGHT 90
Ensure "All layers" is UNCHECKED

PSPX - PSPX6:
IMAGE >>> FREE ROTATE = RIGHT 90
Ensure "All layers" is UNCHECKED


IMAGE >>> RESIZE =
80%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED
Resample using WEIGHTED AVERAGE
STEP 15

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing

Open up the
js_accents_brown-center_daisies_5052 image
in your PSP workspace
Activate the 'yellow' layer

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your frame image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

Reposition with your MOVER tool to top left as shown

STEP 19

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings
BUT Change DEPTH to 4

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> SIMPLE >>> TOP LEFT MIRROR

ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN

STEP 20

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>>
DROP SHADOW
Same settings


ACTIVATE Raster 3

With your MAGIC WAND
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNchecked
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9 - X6: Check CONTIGUOUS
PSPX
- X6: There is no " Sample Merged"


Select the centre of the oval frame
Depress your SHIFT key to pick up the shadow

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 8

ACTIVATE Raster 1

Hit your DELETE key

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with Light Blue #abcdfb

DESELECT

STEP 21

ACTIVATE Raster 3


EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
Same settings

change DIRECTION to 135

STEP 22

CLOSE Raster 1 and Raster 6
Make sure one of the other layers is selected

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

OPEN Raster 1 and Raster 6
STEP 23

With the Merged layer ACTIVE

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with Dark Blue #1964df

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
EDIT >>> CLEAR

EDIT >>> Repeat Drop Shadow.. change DIRECTION to 315
STEP 26

ACTIVATE
Raster 6

Open up the
bluemermaid-Halstenberg image
in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your frame image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.


IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 85%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED
Resample using WEIGHTED AVERAGE

ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN

In your LAYER PALETTE change the BLEND MODE
to MULTIPLY

STEP 27

ADD your NAME

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)

Resize if you wish.
(I did so it would fit in this table *S*)

Save as .jpg image
