XMAS GIFT CARDS
PSP9 to PSPX3

Save to a folder on your computer

STEP 1

Open a new image 1228 x 1740
Transparent background
PSPX - X2: Colour Depth = 8bits/channel
PSPX3
: Colour Depth RGB = 8bits/channel

VIEW >>> RULERS
STEP 2

VIEW >>> GRID


STEP 3

VIEW >>> CHANGE GRID, GUIDE & SNAP PROPERTIES



Enter the following settings
COLOUR =
#a0a0a0


STEP 4

VIEW >>> SNAP TO GRID
STEP 5


Choose your SELECTION TOOL
Selection Type = Rectangle
Mode = Replace
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNChecked


Select the area shown

STEP 6

Flood fill with WHITE
(This will save ink when printing out the cards)

DESELECT

In your MATERIALS PALETTE
Load the '
winni[1].bg.xmas13.4 ' pattern in your foreground
(Or any other pattern of your choice)

STEP 7

OK now we'll create the front of your cards.

Choose your SELECTION TOOL ... Same settings

Select the top RIGHT rectangl
e

Flood fill with the pattern

DESELECT

STEP 8

In your MATERIALS PALETTE
Load the '
winni[1].bg.xmas9.13
' pattern in your foreground
(Or any other pattern of your choice)
STEP 9


Choose your SELECTION TOOL

Same settings

Select the second top rectangle

Flood fill with the pattern

DESELECT

STEP 10

Continue in this manner until all sections on the right side are filled with a
pattern or a plain colour.
You could use a plain solid colour and then add a 'texture' for variety....
OR use some of your patterns in...
EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> SCULPTURE

When you're finished your page should look something like this

STEP 11

Now we will add some decorations to your tags.

For the sake of this exercise we'll use the tubes provided
but you can use tubes of your choice that you may have stored away *S*

VIEW >>> GRID



This will turn off the GRID

STEP 12

Open up the
XmasBow2003-2~DVDM image
in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your Gift Tag image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 50%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED
Resample using WEIGHTED AVERAGE

(Sharpen if you wish)

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
STEP 13

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
STEP 14

Reposition with your MOVER tool

STEP 15

Now we'll add some wordart.

Open up the
WordArt~Winter11-07~LM
image
in your PSP workspace

Choose your SELECTION TOOL
Same settings

Section off the word art indicated
STEP 16

Right click on the Title Bar and select
COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your Gift Card image
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 90
Blur = 0
STEP 17

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
Same settings

Reposition with your MOVER tool

DESELECT

STEP 18

Open up the
JF20
image in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your Gift Card image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 75%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED
Resample using WEIGHTED AVERAGE

(Sharpen if you wish)

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
Same settings

Reposition with your MOVER tool on the second card from the top.

DESELECT

STEP 19

Open up the
WordArt~Christmas11-24-07~LM
image
in your PSP workspace

Choose your SELECTION TOOL
Same settings

Section off the word art indicated
STEP 20

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your Gift Card image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 90
Blur = 0

Reposition with your MOVER tool

DESELECT

STEP 21

Continue in this manner until all cards are done

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

At this time you could print out your cards on an A4 heavyweight page.

Then using a cutter (Scalpel & ruler/ profession paper cutter)
cut out the individual cards.
STEP 22

Of course if you want to brag about your creativity
you could do the following.... *S*

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Select your TEXT tool and a font of your choice...
I'm using ComicSans MS



Enter your text...



Click APPLY
STEP 23

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 90
Blur = 0

Position your text in the centre of the card back.
DESELECT



STEP 24

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Position your text in the centre of the next card back.
STEP 25

Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Position your text in the centre of the next card back....
until all 5 cards are done

DESELECT

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

Print out your cards on an A4 heavyweight page.
