PSP8 to PSPX3


This tutorial was written by Rebba to be shared with the Artistry Master Group.

JUNE 2012

I write these tutorial more in steps and I don't expound on the design or PSP part of the tutorial.
You need a working knowledge of the PSP program as many are advanced tutorials. 
The tubes used are not mine and the copyright belongs to the artist.
The supplies have been recieved from group shares or from the internet.

No infringement intended.

  Note: Remember to save often in PSP and to Edit >> Empty Clipboard in PSP when

you come out of AS and back into PSP.



You will need the following to complete this tutorial

ANIMATION SHOP

MATERIALS

Marilyn.psp
rubies.psp

Save to a folder on your computer


ornamental3-kris.PspShape
Save to your PSP Shapes folder
PSP8: C:\Program Files\Jasc Software\Paint Shop Pro 8\Shapes
PSP9: C:\Program Files\Jasc Software\Paint Shop Pro 9\Shapes
PSPX: C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro X\Shapes
PSPXI / X2: C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2\Corel_11
PSPX3: C:\Program Files\Corel\X3\PSPClassic\Corel_11

Images are from purchased cd's, groups or downloads from the internet.
If I have used an artist image that is not covered under:
"Title 17, Chapter1, Section 107 Under Fair Rights" please contact me

STEP 1

Open up the downloaded images in your PSP workspace and minimize.

Open a new image 400 x 400
Transparent background
PSPX - X2: Colour Depth = 8bits/channel
PSPX3: Colour Depth RGB = 8bits/channel

VIEW >>> RULERS

STEP 2

In your MATERIALS PALETTE

Load SOLID black ' 000000 ' in your foreground
Load SOLID white ' ffffff ' in your background

Flood fill with black

Rename this layer black bgd


STEP 3

Select Preset Shapes Tool

In your MATERIALS PALETTE
NULL (Close) BLACK foreground



Preset = orna3
Join = BEVEL JOIN

STEP 4

Apply the shape


Starting at 30 pixels across and 30 pixels down
drag your cursor to
370 pixels across and 370 pixels down
and release



STEP 5

In your Layer Palette

Right click on this layer and select
"Convert to Raster Layer " from the options

IMAGE >>> MIRROR

Rename this layer AS1
STEP 6

LAYERS >> DUPLICATE >> TWICE
Rename these layers AS2 - AS3

Activate layer AS1

Close layers AS2- AS3

EFFECTS >> PLUGINS >> Andrew's Filters 1 >> AB Filters
use these settings.


STEP 7

Activate layer AS2

Close layers AS1 - AS3
EFFECTS >> PLUGINS >> Andrew's Filters 1 >> AB Filters
use these settings.


STEP 8

Activate layer AS3

Close layers AS1 - AS 2

EFFECTS >> PLUGINS >> Andrew's Filters 1 >> AB Filters
use these settings.

STEP 9

LAYERS >> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood Fill with white

Rename this layer white bgd

In your LAYER PALETTE
Move below AS1

STEP 10

EFFECTS >> PLUGINS >> <I.C. NET Software> Filters Unlimited 2.0 >> Edge Square
use these settings.
Square Edge # 17




STEP 11

Activate layer AS3

Maximize the Marilyn.psp image

Right click on the Title Bar and
select COPY from the options.

Right click on the Title Bar of your 'working' image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

Rename this layer tube

Check my placement and move
STEP 12

Maximize the rubies.psp image

Right click on the Title Bar and
select COPY from the options.

Right click on the Title Bar of your 'working' image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

Rename this layer rubies

STEP 13

LAYERS >> NEW RASTER LAYER


Select your TEXT TOOL
with font and settings of your choice
add your name to the bottom left corner of the layer.

Rename this layer
name.
STEP 14

Set up LAYER PALETTE as shown
STEP 15

Right click on Title Bar and select
Copy merged from the options

In ANIMATION SHOP

Right click the workspace and select
'Paste As New Animation' from the options.
STEP 16

Back to PSP.

Close AS1

Open AS2


Right click on Title Bar and select
Copy merged from the options

In ANIMATION SHOP

Right click top of frame image and select
'Paste After Current Frame' from the options

.
 
STEP 17

Back to PSP.

Close AS2

Open AS3

Right click on Title Bar and select Copy merged from the options

In ANIMATION SHOP

Right click top of frame image and select 'Paste After Current Frame' from the options.



STEP 18

View >> Animation
and while it is still running

File >> Save As
Locate the folder in which you wish to save it.

Name your animation.

With the Gif Optimiser keep pressing NEXT
until you get to the last one... click FINISH

Close the Animation
Close the frames.
Close Animation Shop
