This was created using PSP9 but can be adapted for other versions of PSP.
You will need the
following to complete this tutorial
Materials
RIGHT CLICK >>> SAVE TARGET AS
wood095.jpg
Save to your PSP Textures folder
golden_gradient_background55.jpg
Save to your PSP Patterns folder

Open a new image 550 x 300
Transparent background
PSPX: Colour Depth = 8bits/channel
Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION
symbol
Flood fill with the colour of your choice ... I used PURPLE " #b8b3fb "
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 4
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> BLINDS
COLOUR = " #6a408a "

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE
COLOUR = " #b99bd1 "

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
COLOUR = " #6a408a "
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0
Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK
DESELECT
Choose your SELECTION TOOL
Selection Type = Rectangle
Mode = Replace
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNChecked
AND USING YOUR SHIFT KEY
select the ends of the ribbon

EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
Drag the dupilcated image beneath the first one.
Select your DEFORMATION tool
Mode = SCALE
use default settings
Drag the centre bottom node up slightly

Click the RESET RECTANGLE arrow

ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
Drag the dupilcated image beneath the first one.
Select your DEFORMATION tool
Mode = SCALE
use default settings
Drag the centre bottom node up slightly
Click the RESET RECTANGLE arrow
ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN

Choose your SELECTION TOOL ... same settings
section off the excess transparent space
IMAGE >>> CROP TO SELECTION
Save as .psp image
~/~/~/~/~
You can create more ribbons by using a PATTERN as a FILL instead of a solid colour.
This was created as above, using the
golden_gradient_background55.jpg pattern
