This was created using PSP9 but can be adapted for other versions of PSP.

You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials

Left click and SAVE

JDSJ170.jpg
Bears 3 EGS 11[1].06.02.psp
MistySnowyMountains.tub
le_solitaire.psp
Save to a folder on your computer

Plugins

** EYE CANDY3 **

Open up the JDSJ170.jpg image in your PSP workspace
WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE
Close the original Image
LAYERS >>> Promote background layer

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 85%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Choose your FREEHAND SELECTION TOOL



Section off the part of the image shown below



LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 80%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> BLINDS



EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW



Reposition with your MOVER tool to the bottom left of your image as shown below.



ACTIVATE RASTER 1

Open up the Bears 3 EGS 11[1].06.02.psp image in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your tag image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

Reposition with your MOVER tool as shown below.



EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> PERSPECTIVE SHADOW

ACTIVATE RASTER 1

Open up the MistySnowyMountains.tub image in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your tag image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 60%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Reposition with your MOVER tool as shown below.
(YOU won't have marching ants around yours... I did this to make the
positioning more obvious)




ACTIVATE " Copy of Raster 1"

Open up the le_solitaire.psp image in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your tag image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 60%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Reposition with your MOVER tool as shown below.




LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> SEND TO BOTTOM

Flood fill with DARK BLUE " #0f1a61 "

ACTIVATE RASTER 1

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

With your MAGIC WAND
PSPX: There is no " Sample Merged"
PSPX: Use all layers = UNChecked



Select the area shown below



SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW



Repeat DROP SHADOW but change DIRECTION to 125

DESELECT

In your LAYER PALETTE

Change the BLEND MODE on Raster 3 to "SOFT LIGHT"
Change the BLEND MODE on Raster 4 to "Luminance Legacy"
Change the OPACITY on Raster 4 to 75%



ACTIVATE RASTER 4 (Top Layer)

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 4
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Flood fill with BLUE " #385b92 "

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL




SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 5

Flood fill with BLUE " #385b92 "

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 4

EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND ... Same settings ,,, Select the second blue border



EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings.

DESELECT


LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)

Save as .jpg image
