This was created using PSP9 but can be adapted for other versions of PSP.

You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials
LEFT CLICK >>> SAVE

winterscene.jpg
IDI[Backs]S1@26[1].11.5.psp
snowbemine.psp
CherSwitz~Chilling.psp
Save to a folder on your computer


Plugins

NONE

********************************

Open ALL your images in PSP and minimize

Open a new image 600 x 450
Transparent background
PSPX: Colour Depth = 8bits/channel

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Open up the
winterscene.jpg image in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your tag image
and select PASTE INTO SELECTION from the options.

DESELECT

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 85%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED



LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE

ACTIVATE RASTER 2

EFFECTS >>> ART MEDIA EFFECTS >>> PENCIL
COLOUR = "
#fee8cc "



ACTIVATE "COPY OF RASTER 2"

In your LAYER PALETTE change the OPACITY to 87%
Change the BLEND MODE to DISSOLVE




Open up the
snowbemine.psp image in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your tag image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 50%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Reposition with your MOVER tool



LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE

CLOSE "COPY OF RASTER 3 "
ACTIVATE RASTER 3

In your LAYER PALETTE change the OPACITY to 80%
Change the BLEND MODE to DISSOLVE




Open up the
IDI[Backs]S1@26[1].11.5.pspimage in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your tag image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

Reposition with your MOVER tool

ADJUST >>> HUE & SATURATION >>> COLORIZE



In your LAYER PALETTE change the OPACITY to 54%
Change the BLEND MODE to MULTIPLY



LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE

IMAGE >>> ROTATE >>> FREE ROTATE
Ensure "All layers" is UNCHECKED



Reposition with your MOVER tool



CLOSE RASTER 4 & COPY OF RASTER 4

ACTIVATE "COPY OF RASTER 2"


With your MAGIC WAND
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNchecked
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9/X: Check CONTIGUOUS
PSPX: There is no " Sample Merged"

PSPX: Use all layers = UNChecked


Select the transparent area outside the 'winter scene'.



ACTIVATE RASTER 1

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Flood fill with WHITE

DESELECT

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with BLUE " #d6d8ef "

In your LAYER PALETTE change the OPACITY to 72%
Change the BLEND MODE to DISSOLVE

OPEN RASTER 4 & COPY OF RASTER 4



OPEN & ACTIVATE "COPY OF RASTER 3"

(This is how your LAYER PALETTE should look now.)



On "COPY OF RASTER 3"... change the OPACITY to 66%



EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



ACTIVATE "COPY OF RASTER 4"

EFFECTS >>> EDGE EFFECTS >>> ENHANCE MORE

ACTIVATE RASTER 4

EFFECTS >>> EDGE EFFECTS >>> ENHANCE MORE



Save as .psp image

You can finish here if you like... or continue on and add the 'bear'.


ACTIVATE " Copy of Raster 3"

Open up the
CherSwitz~Chilling.psp.pspimage in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of your tag image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 60%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Reposition with your MOVER tool



LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE

In your LAYER PALETTE change the OPACITY to 64%
Change the BLEND MODE to DISSOLVE

ACTIVATE RASTER 6

EFFECTS >>> ART MEDIA EFFECTS >>> PENCIL
Same settings


LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)

Save as .jpg image
