You will need the
following to complete this tutorial
Materials
" vintage.psp " tube
" CJ_suehalstenberg Lady 5Misted.psp " tube
" CJ_Vintage Lady 15.psp " tube
Click link... then....
Right click and Save Image As to a folder on your computer
" Kimonopatterb-4 " pattern'
'goldfill1' pattern'
Click link... then....
Right click and Save Image As to your PSP Patterns folder

Open a new image 500 x 400
Transparent background
Open the " vintage.psp " tube
Activate the "SMALL" layer
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options
Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the option
CLOSE Raster 1
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION
symbol
Load the 'goldfill1" pattern in your MATERIALS PALETTE foreground
Use these settings
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Flood fill with GOLD
DESELECT
Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION
symbol
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT
(The reason for doing the gold border this way is so that we get no jagged edges)
With your MAGIC WAND
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 120
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNchecked
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS
Select the gold border
EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 55
Blur = 0
Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK
DESELECT
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
With your MAGIC WAND.. same settings and depressing your SHIFT key...
Select the 4 transparent corners within the gold border.
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
Load the 'Kimonopatterb-4"
in your MATERIALS PALETTE background
Use these settings
Flood fill with the pattern
EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
COLOUR = ( #E9E7E7 )
DESELECT
ACTIVATE THE MERGED LAYER
With your MAGIC WAND ... Same settings
Select the OUTER transparent area
Flood fill with Lilac ( #E2D9F2 )
ADJUST >>> ADD/REMOVE NOISE >>> ADD NOISE
Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION
symbol
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT
With your MAGIC WAND ... Same settings
Select the new border
EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings
EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Use the same settings
Click OK
Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to 1
Click OK
DESELECT
With your MAGIC WAND ... Same settings
Select the OUTER transparent area
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with GOLD
DESELECT
Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION
symbol
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT
With your MAGIC WAND ... Same settings
Select the new gold border
EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> DROP SHADOW
Use the same settings
Click OK
Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to 1
Click OK
DESELECT
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
With your MAGIC WAND ... Same settings
Select the OUTER transparent area
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
On your MATERIALS PALETTE change the SCALE of the "Kimonopattern-4" to 50
Flood fill with the "Kimonopattern-4"
DESELECT
Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION
symbol
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT
With your MAGIC WAND ... Same settings
BUT CHANGE TOLERANCE TO 193
Select the new Patterned border
EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
COLOUR = ( #E9E7E7 )
DESELECT
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
EFFECTS >>> GEOMETRIC EFFECTS >>> CYLINDER-HORIZONTAL
STRENGTH = 50
IMAGE >>> MIRROR
Activate the RASTER 2
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
EFFECTS >>> GEOMETRIC EFFECTS >>> CYLINDER-VERTICAL
STRENGTH = 50
IMAGE >>> FLIP
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 0
Select ALL the OUTER transparent areas
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with GOLD
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT
CLOSE the MERGED layer
With your MAGIC WAND
TOLERANCE = 100
and depressing your SHIFT key
Select all the gold borders
EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 55
Blur = 0
Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK
DESELECT
OPEN the MERGED layer
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
With your MAGIC WAND
TOLERANCE = 100
and depressing your SHIFT key ...
Select all the transparent areas
(You may have to ZOOM in to select the bottom horizontal area)
Flood fill with LILAC
ADJUST >>> ADD/REMOVE NOISE >>> ADD NOISE
Same settings
EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN MORE
DESELECT
With your MAGIC WAND ... TOLERANCE = 195
Select the transparent CENTRE and while holding down your SHIFT key
Click inside the scrolls at the centre top, bottom and sides.
It doesn't matter if you don't select the entire transparent sections inside the scrolls.
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 7
Colour = Black
Opacity = 55
Blur = 13
DESELECT
Save as a .psp image
Activate Raster 1
Flood fill with LILAC
Open the " CJ_suehalstenberg Lady 5Misted.psp " tube
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options
Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.
IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 60%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED
Reposition with your MOVER tool
to the left.
In your LAYER PALLETTE change the BLEND MODE to MULTIPLY
Open the " CJ_Vintage Lady 15.psp " tube
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options
Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.
IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 55%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED
Reposition with your MOVER tool to the right.
In your LAYER PALLETTE change the BLEND MODE to MULTIPLY
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)
IMAGE >>> ADD BORDERS = 1 Symmetric - Dark Blue
Save as a .jpg image
