You will need the following to complete this tutorial

xmas01 Materials: HERE

Extract "silverX" and "goldfill1" patterns to your PSP Patterns folder
Extract " Saphiere_Tubes_Deer_7" tubeto a folder on your computer

Open a new image 400 x 400
Transparent background

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with "silverX" pattern

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 20
EDIT >>> CLEAR
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 5
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 155
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNchecked
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS

Select the borders depressing your SHIFT key to select the second border

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN
DESELECT

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 40
Flood fill with "silverX" pattern
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 20
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND select the new border
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 5
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Select the borders depressing your SHIFT key to select the second border

Repeat both Drop Shadows
DESELECT

With your MOVER tool slide the smaller borders to the top left
of your image directly on top of the first borders.
You may have to ZOOM in to do this precisely.





Choose your SELECTION TOOL



Select the area shown below, at the top right of your image



EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT
Close Raster 1
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

With your MAGIC WAND select the transparent areas within the borders,
flood fill with GOLD pattern.



EFFECTS >>> REFLECTION EFFECTS >>> KALEIDOSCOPE



DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND (Tolerance = 0)
select the transparent areas within the borders, flood fill with RED.



EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



EDIT >>> Repeat Inner Bevel
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND select the transparent area shown below
and flood fill with RED



SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 15
Flood fill with GREEN ( #2E6446 )
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND and while holding down your SHIFT key
select the Red and Green as shown below



EFFECTS >>> REFLECTION EFFECTS >>> PATTERN





EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
same settings
DESELECT

(At this point you could Merge Visible layers and save your frame as a .psp image)

Activate Raster 1
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with WHITE

Open up the Deer tube
WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE
Close the original Image

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 55%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Position the Deer at the bottom of the white area
EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW



DESELECT

Activate the MERGED LAYER and with your MAGIC WAND select the
centre of the image.
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
same settings

DESELECT

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)
Save as a .jpg image
