You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials: HERE

Extract goldfill1.bmp" and " lace4.bmp to your PSP Patterns folder
Extract "tw_grandadNmeLrg_shirley-hughes.psp" and "JFscrolls.psp"
to a folder on your computer.

Set up your background and foreground as shown below.
GOLD = Foreground
Lace = Background

..

Open a new image 400 x 450
Transparent background

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Open up your "JFscrolls.psp" image in your PSP workspace..
highlight Raster 3... Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image ... Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Reposition as shown at top left of your image
DESELECT



On your "JFscrolls.psp" image activate Raster 1
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image ... Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Reposition as shown at top left of your image
DESELECT



On your "JFscrolls.psp" image activate Raster 4
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image ... Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Reposition as shown at top of your image
DESELECT



EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> SIMPLE >>> TOP LEFT MIRROR



LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
On your "JFscrolls.psp" image activate Raster 4
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of frame image
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.
Reposition as shown centre left of your image
DESELECT



LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> MIRROR

Close Raster 1
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE



With your MAGIC WAND
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Antialias = Checked
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS

Select a section of the frame ... SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> SELECT SIMILAR



Select your AIRBRUSH tool



Fill with GOLD pattern

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2

Fill with LACE pattern

EFFECTS >>> EDGE EFFECTS >>> ENHANCE MORE
EDIT >>> Repeat Enhance Edges More
DESELECT



On your "JFscrolls.psp" image activate Raster 2
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Right click on the Title Bar of frame image
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.
Close the Merged layer



With your MAGIC WAND ... Select the frame ...
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 2
Fill with GOLD pattern

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2

Fill with LACE pattern

EFFECTS >>> EDGE EFFECTS >>> ENHANCE MORE
EDIT >>> Repeat Enhance Edges More
DESELECT

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 95%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED
ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN

LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
Open the Merged layer

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE



Choose your SELECTION TOOL
Selection Type = Rectangle
Mode = Replace
Feather = 0
Antialias = Checked

Draw a rectangle around the entire frame ... click inside rectangle to select frame

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
COLOUR = White

EDIT >>> Repeat Inner Bevel
ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN



With your MAGIC WAND
Select the CENTRE transparent area
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW



LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
Flood fill with Maroon ( #904543 )

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



DESELECT

Activate the Merged layer
With your MAGIC WAND
Same settings

Select the OUTER frame area
Activate Raster 3
Repeat INNER BEVEL



LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 9
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Fill with GOLD pattern

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2

Fill with LACE pattern

EFFECTS >>> EDGE EFFECTS >>> ENHANCE MORE
EDIT >>> Repeat Enhance Edges More

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 9
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

Save as a ,psp image

Your frame is now ready for an image of your choice *S*
