USING PREMADE TEMPLATES
PSP7

You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials: HERE
Extract Font into C:\Windows\Fonts
Extract .bmp file into PSP Patterns folder

Tubes: HERE
Save tubes to a folder on your computer

These are simplified tutorials... you may make your result/s
more decorative once you get the idea of how to use
premade Templates.

These are done in PSP7 but can be done in other versions

TEMPLATE 1

Open up your "ivy_07template.psp"
WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE
Close the original image

Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight Layer 1
EDIT >>> CLEAR
which will eliminate the creator's signature..

Flood fill with PINK ( #D8C7BA )

EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> FINE LEATHER



LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> SEND TO BOTTOM

Highlight the Merged Layer
IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 85%
Resize all layers = UNchecked

COLOURS >>> COLOURIZE
Hue = 13
Saturation - 68

With your MOVER TOOL reposition the Template as shown below
to the top left of your image .

OK now we'll add a little more intrest...

Highlight Layer 1 in your LAYER PALETTE
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Open up the "PatryMists_06_Elegant_06.psp" tube
Highlight the MERGED LAYER in your LAYER PALETTE

Right click on the Title Bar of the tube and select COPY
Right click on the Title Bar of your Template image and select
PASTE AS NEW SELECTION

Position as shown below



On your LAYER PALETTE change the Blend Mode on Layer 2 to Luminance
and change the Opacity to 60%



Highlight the MERGED LAYER to activate.
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Double click your SELECTION TOOL and enter these settings






Flood fill the selected area with PINK
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Load the "jb_s063gold" pattern in your Foreground COLOUR PALETTE
ANGLE = 0
SCALE = 75

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with the gold pattern
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND 3
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT CLEAR

DESELECT



With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 100
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNchecked

Select the gold border

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND ( same settings )
Select the transparent centre section of the gold border

Highlight Layer 3 to activate

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL






IMAGE >>> RESIZE




LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Select your TEXT TOOL using settings shown enter whatever text suits you...
Font = Uechi
Size = 48
Fill = #6F5145




Click OK

Position text in the newly created gold bordered box

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

EFFECTS >>> SHARPEN >>> SHARPEN

DESELECT




LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT 3
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT >>> CLEAR

Flood fill the selection with the gold pattern

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 6
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 13.6

DESELECT

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL ( Flatten )

Save as a .jpg image
and you're done
