You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials: HERE
EXTRACT "ivy_squiggleaccents.psp" to a folder on your computer
EXTRACT "esp_diamond_grille.jpg" to your PSP TEXTURES folder.
EXTRACT "goldfill1.bmp" to your PSP PATTERNS folder.

If you wish to use the images I used...

Open a new image 400 x 400
Transparent background
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol

Flood fill with Gold pattern



SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2
EDIT >>> CLEAR
Flood fill with ( #7DD7C9 )

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



DESELECT



LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> FLIP

Close Raster 1
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE




Open up the "ivy_squiggleaccents" tube
Activate Layer 3
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Select your DEFORMATION tool
and using the 'rotate' node.. rotate downwards so the leg of the 'squiggle' is horizontal.

...

Reposition to the top left corner using your MOVER tool.
ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> MIRROR



Close the MERGED layer
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> FLIP

Open all layers EXCEPT Raster 1



LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE




LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol

Flood fill with Gold pattern
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2
EDIT >>> CLEAR
Flood fill with ( #7DD7C9 )

DESELECT

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 90%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 90%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED



Close the MERGED layer
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> MIRROR

Open all layers EXCEPT Raster 1
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE



EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW



On your LAYER PALETTE activate Raster 1
Flood fill with Green ( #2E6446 )

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Select your SELECTION tool



Starting in the centre of your image (200, 200)
create a circle



SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Flood fill with Green
DESELECT

Close Raster 1
With Raster 2 activated, using your MAGIC WAND select the
transparent centre.

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
Flood fill with Gold

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 5
EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT



With Raster 2 activated, using your MAGIC WAND select the
transparent centre.

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW



DESELECT




Activate Raster 2

EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE

ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 8
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT >>> CLEAR
Flood fill with Gold

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2
Flood fill with Pale Green ( #85D7C7 )

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Change DEPTH to 4
DESELECT

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 8
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

Open all layers.

Save as a .psp image

Your frame is now ready to add images of your choice.
