You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials 1: HERE

Extract "golden_gradient_background55.jpg" to your PSP PATTERNS folder
Extract "PatternV~07_GxChic!.bmp" to your PSP TEXTURES folder
Extract everything else to a folder on your computer

You will also need
** EYE CANDY3 **

DON'T FORGET TO "SAVE" OFTEN

Open a new image 500 x 400
Transparent background

Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol
Enter the following settings

Flood fill with BLACK

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 4
Go to EDIT >>> CLEAR
DESELECT

Rename this layer "Centre"

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
Rename this layer "Left"
Select your DEFORM tool and while holding down your CTRL key
drag the bottom left node down to the 380 pixel mark

Now... drag the centre left node in line with the 220 pixel mark.

Select your MOVER tool and drag the "Left" layer image to the left
leaving a small gap between it and the centre image

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
Rename this layer "Right"
IMAGE >>> MIRROR

( I suggest you save as a .psp image now. PSP has a bad habit of doing the unexpected.)

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Maximize the 'Hinge" tube
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options.
Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

Reposition towards the top left as shown below

EFFECTS >>> EDGE EFFECTS >>> ENHANCE
Go to IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 60%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Select your DEFORM tool and while holding down your SHIFT key
move the top left and bottom left nodes upwards.
Click your MOVER tool to deselect the Deform tool

EFFECTS >>> EDGE EFFECTS >>> ENHANCE
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> FLIP
On your Layer Palette CLOSE layers 'Centre', "Left" and "Right"
Make sure one of the other layers is highlighted
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> MIRROR
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
Rename this layer "Hinge"
Open all layers.

( I suggest you save now. )

CLOSE the "Hinge" Layer
Activate the "Centre" layer
Maximise the "55.psp" tube

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options.
Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

Select your DEFORM tool and using the centre top and bottom,
and centre left and right nodes reduce the size of the image to fit the centre frame.

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
Close Raster 1
Drag the image to the left..
Then using your DEFORM tool and by keeping your CTRL key depressed to adjust the height of the sides and release the CTRL key to adjust the width (right side of the image)
adjust to fit the left frame.

........

Click your MOVER tool to deselect the Deform tool.
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
IMAGE >>> MIRROR

On your LAYER PALETTE.. Close "Centre", "Left" and "Right" Layers

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

With your MAGIC WAND
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Antialias = Inside
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS

Click on a black section
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> SELECT SIMILAR

Load the "golden_gradient_background55" in your MATERIALS PALETTE foreground

Select your AIRBRUSH

Fill the selected areas with the pattern.
EFFECTS >>> EDGE EFFECTS >>> ENHANCE
EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
COLOUR = CREAM ( #F7F7EF )

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW

DESELECT

CLOSE the MERGED layer
OPEN the CENTRE, LEFT and RIGHT layers,
activate the LEFT layer
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

With your MAGIC WAND
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance =100
Feather = 0
Antialias = Inside
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS

Click on a black section
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> SELECT SIMILAR
same settings

Load the "goldfill1" in your MATERIALS PALETTE background
ANGLE = 0
SCALE =- 100

Using your AIRBRUSH fill the frame with the gold pattern
EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
same settings

DESELECT

OPEN all layers... activate the HINGE layer
ADJUST >>> Hue & Saturation >>> Colorize

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
same settings

Activate the upper MERGED layer

With your MAGIC WAND ... same settings,
select the inner transparent sections of each frame using your SHIFT key
to get right to the edges

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> SEND TO BOTTOM
Flood fill with CREAM ( #EFEBDE )

EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE
COLOUR = CREAM ( #EFEBDE )
TEXTURE = PatternV~07_GxChic!"

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW

OK.. now it's time to add the pictures... we're almost there...

Open up the "Lady 1, Lady 2 and Lady 3" images

On your frame image
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Right click on the Title Bar of the "Lady 1" image and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 40%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Select your DEFORM tool to reduce the size of the image to fit the centre frame.

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Right click on the Title Bar of the "Lady 2" image and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 40%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Select your DEFORM tool to reduce the size of the image to fit the right frame.
Remember to use your CTRL key to adjust the height

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Right click on the Title Bar of the "Lady 3 " image and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.

IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 40%
Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED

Select your DEFORM tool to reduce the size of the image to fit the left frame.
Remember to use your CTRL key to adjust the height

Close the HINGE, both MERGED layers and Raster 1
Highlight one of the other layers

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
EFFECTS >>> ARTISTIC EFFECTS >>> SEPIA TONING
Amount to age = 75

(In PSPX the 'Sepia Toning' is found in EFFECTS >>>PHOTO EFFECTS >>> SEPIA)

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
same settings

EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
Change DIRECTION to 130

OPEN all layers

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

FILE >>> EXPORT >>> GIF OPTIMIZER
Use these settings on the TRANSPARENCY tag

Use these settings on the PARTIAL TRANSPARENCY tag
BLEND COLOUR = ( #F7F7EF )

Click OK

Phew.. that's it!!
