You will need the following to complete this tutorial

XF4 Materials
: HERE


"jb-s063_gold.bmp"
Extract to your PSP Patterns folder.

"baby-Jesus-Mary_sea.psp" and "template.psp"
Extract to a folder on your computer

Holiday Pi BT.ttf
Extract to C:\Windows\Fonts

Load the GOLD pattern in your foreground




and SOLID RED ( #BD0D0D ) in your background


Open a new image 420 x 394 ... Transparent background

Open your "template" tube
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image
Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

Click on your SELECTION TOOL and then click on CUSTOM SELECTION



enter these co-ordinates






Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on Raster 1 to activate
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Flood fill with RED ( #BD0D0D )

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with the gold pattern

Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 150
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED

Select the gold border

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 50
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT



Go to your LAYER PALETTE .... Highlight Raster 2 to activate

With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
and depressing your SHIFT KEY
Select the areas shown on the following 2 images








Flood fill with the gold pattern




Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 1
Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 15
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with the gold pattern

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 150

Select the gold border

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 50
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT



Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with the gold pattern

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 50
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT




Go to your LAYER PALETTE .... Highlight Raster 2 to activate
With your MAGIC WAND
Select the areas shown below



Go to your LAYER PALETTE .... Highlight Raster 1 to activate

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



DESELECT

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Select your TEXT tool and using the settings below
alternately type in 'p' and 'o' (lower case) pressing your ENTER button on your keyboard
after each letter. (We need 2 x p and 2 x o)

Please note DIRECTION OPTION (vertical & down)
will automatically place TEXT in vertical position





Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Go to ADJUST >>> BRIGHTNESS & CONTRAST >>> BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST



DESELECT

Go to LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
Go to IMAGE >>> MIRROR
Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Go to LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> SEND TO BOTTOM

Save as a .psp image

Your frame is now ready for you to add your image.
