You will need the following to complete this tutorial

VF Materials
: HERE

On your MATERIALS PALETTE
Load
'PatternH~02_GxChic!.bmp' into your background
SCALE = 100
ANGLE = 0

Load
'goldfill1.bmp' into your foreground
SCALE = 80
ANGLE = 0

Open a new image 400 x 400
Transparent background

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with
'PatternH~02_GxChic!.bmp'

EFFECTS >>> GEOMETRIC EFFECTS >>> CIRCLE
EDGE MODE = Transparent
EDIT >>> Repeat Circle (2 more times)

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE


Position your MOVER TOOL at 200 x 200 and slide the top layer to the left
as shown below. (Make sure you are still level with 200 (down) before releasing
your mouse button)



LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE

IMAGE >>> MIRROR

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Close Raster layers 1 & 2

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE

IMAGE >>> ROTATE >>> FREE ROTATE = Right 90



LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
OPEN and highlight Raster layer 2
Close the Merged Layer

With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0

Click on the transparent area

Flood fill with
'PatternH~02_GxChic!.bmp'

DESELECT


Go to your LAYER PALETTE
OPEN and highlight the Merged Layer

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
COLOUR = ( #A0CCBB )



Highlight Raster Layer 2

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
same settings

Highlight the Merged Layer

With your MAGIC WAND
Click in the centre of your image
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 1



LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> CUT OUT



Repeat CUT OUT effect
DESELECT

With Raster 1 closed.. go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE (*Twice)
Close Merged and Copy of Merged
Working on Copy (2) of Merged (Close other layers)
Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol
enter these settings
EDIT >>> CLEAR

...

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
Flood fill with Gold pattern
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 7
Go to EDIT >>> CLEAR

LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Open and Activate Copy (2) of Merged

With your MAGIC WAND click in the centre of your image
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Repeat both drop shadows
DESELECT



LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
RENAME this layer MERGED 2 and close
OPEN & Highlight 'Copy of Merged'.. Close 'Merged 2'

SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 45
EDIT >>> CLEAR
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
Flood fill with Gold pattern
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 7
Go to EDIT >>> CLEAR
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Repeat both drop shadows
DESELECT

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE
RENAME this layer MERGED 3



Go to your LAYER PALETTE ... open Merged 2
Drag Merged 2 UNDER Merged 3



CLOSE Merged 2 and Merged 3
OPEN & Highlight the MERGED layer



SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 45
EDIT >>> CLEAR
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Repeat both drop shadows
DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Drag the MERGED layer to the top of your palette




SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT >>> CLEAR

Flood fill with Gold pattern



Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> CHISEL
COLOUR = ( #A0CCBB )




Repeat both drop shadows
DESELECT





With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 0
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS

Select the centre transparent section

Repeat both drop shadows
DESELECT


Make the Merged 3 layer active

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 0
Select the centre transparent section


Make Merged 2 active
SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Repeat CHISEL EFFECT
Change SIZE to 9
DESELECT


Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 120

Click on a PURPLE section as shown below

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Click on a PURPLE section as shown below

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 0
Select the centre transparent section

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
OPEN and highlight Raster 1

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
Flood fill with Gold pattern

SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 5
Go to EDIT >>> CLEAR

Repeat both drop shadows
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 1

Flood fill with Gold pattern
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2
Go to EDIT >>> CLEAR

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Repeat both drop shadows
DESELECT



Close Raster 1

Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

Go to IMAGE >>> CANVAS SIZE



With your MAGIC WAND
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS

Select the OUTER transparent area
Flood fill with Gold pattern
Repeat both drop shadows

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Repeat both drop shadows

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Select the centre transparent section
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow



DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Open Raster 1

Save as a ',psp' file

Your frame is now ready for the image of your choice

You may use the image provided....
I made the background GREEN ( #6DB39A ), then copied & pasted the tube.
