You will need the following to complete this tutorial

SOPmaterials.zip
download
Download and extract Background "hres_art_beautyfull2.jpg"
Download and extract Image "cloud1full.jpg"
Download and extract Tube "OkieDee-FriendshipBouquet_CornerVine.psp"
to a folder on your computer.

Download and extract "jb-s063_gold.bmp" to your PSP Patterns folder.

These are different colour backgrounds which you can use instead of
the one used in the tutorial *S*
Download and extract to a folder on your computer.

Open all your materials from the SOPmaterials zip in your PSP workspace.
Minimise "cloud1full.jpg" and "OkieDee-FriendshipBouquet_CornerVine.psp"

Click on the "hres_art_beautyfull2.jpg" to activate
Go to WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE
Close the original image

Using your duplicated image
LAYERS >>> PROMOTE BACKGROUND LAYER
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
You now have 3 layers of the same image

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Close "Raster 1" and "Copy of Raster 1"
Make sure the "Copy (2) of Raster 1" is highlighted.

Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol

Use these settings:

Click OK

EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol
Use these settings:
LEFT = 50
TOP = 50
RIGHT - 275
BOTTOM = 375

Click OK

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT CLEAR

DESELECT

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Use these settings

Click OK
EDIT >>> REPEAT INNER BEVEL

With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNchecked
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS

Select the outer transparent area

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Go to your COLOUR PALETTE
Load the "jb-s063_gold.bmp" PATTERN into your background box
Settings:
Angle = 0
Scale = 100

Flood fill the transparent area with Gold Pattern
DESELECT

Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol
Use these settings:
LEFT = 47
TOP = 47
RIGHT - 278
BOTTOM = 378

Click OK

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

(The reason I'm doing the gold borders this way is because I want
the corners to be squared... if I used 'Selections >> Modify >>> Expand'
the corners be rounded)

With your MAGIC WAND
Same settings
Click in the transparent centre of your image.

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 50
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

With your MAGIC WAND
Same settings

Click in the OUTER transparent area of your image.

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on "Copy of Raster 1" to open and activate

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT CLEAR

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Close the MERGED layer

DESELECT

Double click your SELECTION TOOL
Use these settings:
LEFT = 27
TOP = 27
RIGHT - 298
BOTTOM = 398

Click OK

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT CLEAR

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 135

Select the border

EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> FINE LEATHER
Use these settings

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Use the same settings

Click OK
EDIT >>> REPEAT INNER BEVEL
EDIT >>> REPEAT INNER BEVEL
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND

Select the outer transparent area

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill the transparent area with Gold Pattern
DESELECT

Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol
Use these settings:
LEFT = 24
TOP = 24
RIGHT - 301
BOTTOM = 401

Click OK

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT CLEAR

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Same settings
Click in the transparent centre of your image.

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Same settings

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Same settings
Click in the OUTER transparent section of your image.

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Close the second MERGED layer
Click on Raster 1 to open and activate

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT CLEAR

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>> SANDSTONE
Use these settings
COLOUR = #FFF3B3

Click OK

EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Use the same settings

Click OK
EDIT >>> REPEAT INNER BEVEL

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Same settings

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

Choose your SELECTION TOOL then click on the CUSTOM SELECTION symbol
Use these settings:
LEFT = 3
TOP = 3
RIGHT - 322
BOTTOM = 422

Click OK

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
EDIT CLEAR

Flood fill the transparent area with Gold Pattern

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Same settings

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

LAYERS >>> VIEW >>> ALL
LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

(You can save your image at this point as a .psp file so you can use it over
again with different images and corner decorations.
If you do save it here for future use...
go to WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE and use the duplicated frame image from here.)

LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> SEND TO BOTTOM

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the MERGED LAYER to activate
LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Maximize the "OkieDee-FriendshipBouquet_CornerVine.psp" tube
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from the options.
Position the tube to the top right of the frame

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Settings:
Horizontal & Vertical = 6
Opacity = 75%
Blur = 9.9
Click OK
DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the MERGED layer to activate

With your MAGIC WAND
Same settings
Click in the transparent centre of your image.
SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 4

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on Raster 1 to activate

Maximize the "cloud1full.jpg" image
Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE INTO SELECTION from the options.
DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on the MERGED layer to activate

With your MAGIC WAND
Same settings
Click in the transparent centre of your image.

SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Settings:
Horizontal & Vertical = 6
Opacity = 75%
Blur = 9.9

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 6
Click OK

DESELECT

LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)

and that's it!!!

Save your image as a .jpg file
