Go to IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 85%
Make sure "Resize all layers" is Checked




Go to IMAGE >>> CANVAS SIZE







Go to your MATERIALS PALETTE
Load SOLID WHITE into your lower (background) box

Load SOLID MAROON ( #692D35 )
into your upper (foreground) box

Select the PATTERN symbol on your foreground box
Load pattern 'jb-s063_gold' into your upper (foreground) box
SCALE = 20
ANGLE = 0




Load "Finished Wood" pattern in your
lower (background) box
SCALE = 100
ANGLE = 270

..........



BORDER 1

With your MAGIC WAND
Mode = Replace
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNchecked
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED

Select the outer transparent area
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with Gold

Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT NONE
Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 33
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

(The reason I'm using this method is because I want
straight corners, not rounded corners)

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 150

Select the Gold border

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Click on the centre of your image
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
Use these settings



Click OK

REPEAT Drop Shadow
Changing the "Direction" to = 138
Click OK

DESELECT



BORDER 2


With your MAGIC WAND

Select the outer transparent area
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with the "Finished Wood"

Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT NONE
Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 20
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 150

Select the Wood border

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Use these settings



Click OK

DESELECT

Now the colour of the wood doesn't look quite right for the image so...

Go to ADJUST>>> HUE & SATURATION >>> COLOURIZE
Use these settings



Click OK


BORDER 3


With your MAGIC WAND

Select the outer transparent area
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with Gold

Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT NONE
Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 18
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Select the Gold border

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

BORDER 4


With your MAGIC WAND

Select the outer transparent area
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with the "Finished Wood"

Go to ADJUST>>> HUE & SATURATION >>> COLOURIZE
Use the same settings


Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT NONE
Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 8
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
(DO NOT CLEAR)

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Use the same settings
Click OK

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK
DESELECT



Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)



BORDER 5

Go to IMAGE >>> ADD BORDERS = 2
COLOUR = WHITE

With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED

Select the WHITE border
Flood fill with the gold pattern

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

BORDER 6

Repeat instructions as for BORDER 5



BORDER 7


Go to IMAGE >>> ADD BORDERS = 4
COLOUR = MAROON ( #692D35 )

With your MAGIC WAND
Select the MAROON border

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Use the same settings

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

BORDER 8


Go to IMAGE >>> ADD BORDERS = 2
COLOUR = WHITE

With your MAGIC WAND
Select the WHITE border
Flood fill with the gold pattern

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

OK... let's add the corners
