You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials
: HERE
Download and extract "silver" pattern to your to your PSP Patterns Folder.
Extract SWAN tube to a folder on your computer

Download and extract to your PSP Plugins Folder.

Load the gabriel-zilver pattern in your foreground palette
Angle = 45
Scale = 100

Load solid Blue ( #C8DCFF ) in your background palette

Open a new image 450 x 350
Transparent background

Flood fill with BLUE

Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 20
Go to EDIT CLEAR
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>>BLINDS
COLOUR =
#808080 ******




Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
COLOUR = BLUE ( #acb5d0 )




Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

OUTSIDE BORDER

Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT CLEAR
Flood fill with silver

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

INNER BORDER

With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Antialias = UNchecked
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
PSP9 USERS: CHECK CONTIGUOUS

Select the transparent centre of your image

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with silver
DESELECT

Click on your SELECTION TOOL >>> click on Custom Selection option
Enter these co-ordinates





Go to EDIT CLEAR

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

NOTE: The reason for doing the border this way is so that it has sharp corners

BORDER 3

With your MAGIC WAND
Select the transparent centre of your image
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with BLUE


Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 20
Go to EDIT CLEAR
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>>BLINDS
This time CHECK 'HORIZONTAL'
DESELECT

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings


With your MAGIC WAND
Select the transparent centre of your image
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT


BORDER 4

With your MAGIC WAND
Select the transparent centre of your image
Flood fill with silver

Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
Go to EDIT CLEAR

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Repeat both drop shadows

DESELECT




With your MAGIC WAND
Select the transparent centre of your image
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with BLUE
Go to LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> SEND TO BOTTOM
DESELECT


Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

Go to LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
Go to LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN

Go to EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> MURA'S MEISTER>>> POLE TRANSFORM



Click OK

With your MOVER TOOL drag the resulting image down and reposition
as shown below.



Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE


With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED

Holding down your SHIFT KEY....select the outer transparent areas.

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 2

Go to LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN


Flood fill with BLUE ( #B5BDD4 )

Go to EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>>BLINDS
Same settings

Go to EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE EFFECTS >>>BLINDS
UNCHECK HORIZONTAL

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings EXCEPT change AMBIENCE to (minus) -42
AND COLOUR to #acb5d0
DESELECT******

Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE



Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Go to LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN
Flood fill with BLUE

If you are using the "Swan" tube provided....

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your frame image.... Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.
Reposition if necessary with your MOVER TOOL

Go to ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN
Go to ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight the MERGED Layer

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 0

Select the inner circle area

Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> FEATHER = 2

Go to your LAYER PALETTE >>> Highlight Raster 1

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW



Go to EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
Change the ANGLE to 137

DESELECT


Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)

Go to IMAGE >>> ADD BORDERS = 3

With your MAGIC WAND
Select the new border... flood fill with silver pattern

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK


DESELECT
