GAUZE & GOLD FRAME

You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Gauze and Gold Materials
: HERE
Extract both tubes to a folder on your computer
Extract the gold pattern to your PSP Patterns folder

********************************

Open a new image 450 x 300
Transparent background

Open up the 'Temp110" tube in your PSP workspace

Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options

Go to your new blank image .... Right click on the Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options.

With your MOVER TOOL positioned at the 150 pixel mark (centre of image) as indicated by the X below drag the frame to the left edge of your image.






Go to LAYERS >>> DUPLICATE
Go to IMAGE >>> MIRROR

Go to your LAYER PALETTE and CLOSE Layer 1
Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

Double click your SELECTION TOOL
and enter these co-ordinates



Go to your LAYER PALETTE and OPEN and highlight Layer 1

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Flood fill with SOLID Peach ( #EDC1A3 )

Go to EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> CYBIA >>> SCREENWORKS
Select the LIGHT GAUZE option



Click OK

DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight the MERGED Layer
With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
Select the areas indicated below



Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight Layer 1

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



Click OK

DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight the MERGED Layer again...
With your MAGIC WAND
Select the areas indicated below ON BOTH SIDES OF YOUR IMAGE



Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight Layer 1
(This is to make these sections stand out a little more *S*)


Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings
Click OK

DESELECT


Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight the MERGED Layer

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 130

Select the BLACK template

Go to yourCOLOUR PALETTE
Load the "jb-s063_gold" pattern in your background



Select your AIRBRUSH TOOL



Fill the selected area with the gold pattern

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



Click OK

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Same settings EXCEPT change the BEVEL setting to:



Click OK

DESELECT




Go to IMAGE >>> CANVAS SIZE




Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight Layer 1

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 0

Select the outer transparent area
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with the gold pattern
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 2
Go to EDIT CLEAR

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with SOLID Peach ( #EDC1A3 )

Go to EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> CYBIA >>> SCREENWORKS
Select the LIGHT GAUZE option
Same settings

Click OK

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL



Click OK

Go to EDIT >>> Repeat Inner Bevel

Go to LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN


DESELECT



Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight Layer 1

With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 130

Select the 2 new gold borders

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE and rearrange the layer as shown below



Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Go to LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> SEND TO BOTTOM

Save as a .psp file

Your frame is now ready to hold an image of your choice
