You will need the following to complete this tutorial

Materials needed
GM_Supplies
or

download
Download and extract the "jd-mask112.msk" to your PSP Masks folder.

extract the ".bmp" files (lace4.bmp & jb-s063_gold.bmp)
to
your PSP Patterns folder

extract the "Tubes" ( ivy_diamondaccents.psp & Image59.psp)
to
a folder on your computer

Simple Filters

Download and extract to your PSP Plugins Folder

Go to your MATERIALS PALETTE
Load RED ( #AF0603 ) in your lower, background box.

Load GOLD ( jb-s063_gold ) PATTERN in your upper, foreground box.
Scale = 100
Angle = 0

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~


Open up a new image 400 x 450
Transparent background

Flood fill with RED ( #AF0603 )

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with BLACK

Go to LAYERS >>> LOAD/SAVE MASK >>> LOAD MASK FROM DISK




Click OK

Go to LAYERS >>> DELETE



Click YES

Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE GROUP






With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED

Select the 4th black border from the centre



Flood fill with the GOLD pattern

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT


With your MAGIC WAND
Select the next black border as indicated below



Then.. holding down your SHIFT key select the second black border
as shown below



Your image should now look like this






Flood fill the black areas with the GOLD pattern

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 2
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT CLEAR

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

Go to ADJUST >>> SHARPNESS >>> SHARPEN

DESELECT




Using your SELECTION TOOL
Selection Type = Rectangle
Feather - 0
Antialias = UNchecked
Select the area just inside the centre gold border



Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Click on the outer RED area as shown below
AND
while holding down your SHIFT KEY
also select the red border as indicated by the lower 'pointing hand' below.



Flood fill both selections with BLACK
DESELECT
