You will need the following to complete
this tutorial
download
"Shape22" tube,
"firedance" image, corner
elements
Extract to a folder
on your computer
"annissa28" pattern" and
"jb-s063_gold"
Download and extract
to your PSP Patterns folder.
********************************
Go to your COLOUR PALETTE
Load the "annissa28" pattern
into your background box and
load the "jb-s063_gold" pattern
into your foreground box
using the settings shown below.
... 
Open up "Shape22" tube in your
PSP workspace
Create a new image 395 x 395
transparent background
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW
RASTER LAYER
Go to SELECTIONS >>>
SELECT ALL
Right click on the Title Bar of the
"Shape22" tube and
select COPY from the options
Go to your frame image ... Right click on
the Title Bar
and select PASTE INTO SELECTIONfrom the
options.
DESELECT
Go to IMAGE >>> CANVAS SIZE
Use these settings

With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
Select the transparent border and flood
fill with BLACK
DESELECT
With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 100
Select the black area
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW
RASTER LAYER
Go to SELECTIONS >>>
MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 1
Flood fill with the "annissa28"
pattern
Go to EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE
EFFECTS >>> FUR
Use these settings

Go to COLOURS >>> ADJUST
>>> BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST
Brightness = 18
Contrast = 15
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS
>>> INNER BEVEL
Use these settings

Click OK
DESELECT

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight Layer 2 to activate
With your MAGIC WAND and while holding
down your SHIFT KEY
select the WHITE sections of the image
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW
RASTER LAYER
Go to SELECTIONS >>>
MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 1
Flood fill with SOLID RED ( #C00000 )
Go to EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE
EFFECTS >>> BLINDS
Use these settings
COLOUR = ( #6B0D0D )

Click OK
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS
>>> INNER BEVEL
Use the same settings EXCEPT change the
INTENSITY to 40
Go to EFFECTS >>> EDGE
>>> ENHANCE
DESELECT
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight Layer 2 to activate
With your MAGIC WAND
Tolerance = 170
and while holding down your SHIFT KEY
Click in the transparent centre of your
image and in each
of the striped areas as shown below

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW
RASTER LAYER
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Move Layer 5 to the TOP of your palette

Flood fill with the Gold pattern
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY
>>> CONTRACT = 3
Go to EDIT CLEAR
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects
>>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 75
Blur = 0
Repeat Drop
Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - (
minus ) 1
Click OK
DESELECT

Don't worry about the gold surrounding
the inner oval....
we're about to fix that *S*
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight Layer 2 to activate
With your MAGIC WAND
FEATHER = 5
click in the transparent centre of the
oval
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW
RASTER LAYER
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Move Layer 6 to the TOP
of your palette
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight Layer 5 to
activate
Go to EDIT CLEAR
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight Layer 3 to
activate
Go to EDIT CLEAR
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight Layer 4 to
activate
Go to EDIT CLEAR
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight Layer 2 to
activate
Go to EDIT CLEAR
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Highlight Layer 6 to
activate
Go to your COLOUR PALETTE
Change the SCALE on the GOLD pattern to 50
Select you AIRBRUSH TOOL
Settings:
SHAPE = ROUND
SIZE = 190
HARDNESS = 100
OPACITY = 100
STEP = 25
DENSITY = 100
AIRBRUSH the centre selection with the
gold pattern
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY
>>> CONTRACT = 3
Go to EDIT CLEAR
AGAIN... Go to SELECTIONS >>>
MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
Select your ERASER
Settings:

Erase the centre area of the oval to
remove all traces of the gold.
DESELECT

Since I'm using a
'vertical' image I will have to rotate
the frame..
If you are using a predominantly
'horizontal" image ignore this
next step.
Go to IMAGE >>> ROTATE

Go to your LAYER PALETTE and CLOSE Layer
1
Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE
>>> MERGE VISIBLE
Go to your LAYER PALETTE... Open and highlight
Layer 1 to activate
Open your "firedance" image in
your PSP workspace
Right click on the Title Bar and select
COPY from the options
Go to your frame image Right click on the
Title Bar
and select PASTE AS NEW SELECTION from
the options.
Go to IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 85%
Make sure "Resize all layers"
is UNCHECKED
Slide the image into position

DESELECT
Go to your LAYER PALETTE and highlight
the Merged layer
With your MAGIC WAND
FEATHER = 0
click in the centre of the
oval
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY
>>> EXPAND = 5
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects
>>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 6
Colour = Black
Opacity = 75
Blur = 12.3
DESELECT
Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE
>>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)
Change your background to SOLID WHITE
Go to IMAGE >>> ADD BORDERS = 3
With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED
Select the White Border and flood fill
with the GOLD pattern
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects
>>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 75
Blur = 0
Repeat Drop
Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - (
minus ) 1
Click OK
DESELECT
Go to IMAGE >>> ADD BORDERS = 2
With your MAGIC WAND
Select the White Border and flood fill
with the GOLD pattern
Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects
>>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 75
Blur = 0
Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - (
minus ) 1
Click OK
DESELECT
You can decorate the upper left and
bottom right corners if you wish...
or just leave them plain. I included a
couple of corner elements in the zip
file.
(I added a new
raster layer.... copy and pasted the
corner element...
positioned it in the top left corner....
flood filled it with gold ...
added a drop shadow { H & V =
1/Opacity = 75/Blur = 0}... DESELECT
LAYER DUPLICATE ... IMAGE FLIP ... IMAGE
MIRROR ...
LAYERS MERGE >>> MERGE ALL
(Flatten)
Resize your image to suit and save as
.jpg file.
and we're
done.
