download
Download and extract
to your PSP Textures folder.
You will also need the "Flower"
tube
which you can download HERE
Extract to a folder
on your computer
Click on the image below to be taken to
the larger image which you need to right
click
and save to a folder on your computer.

This is a very simple example of
blending.
Because this tut is so simple it can
easily be
adapted for use in PSP8/9
********************************
Open up the large Scarlet image in your
PSP workspace
Select your FREEHAND (Lasso) TOOL
Settings:
SELECTION TYPE = Pont to Point
FEATHER = 24
ANTIALIAS = checked
Work your way around the image with your
Lasso tool
as shown in the image on the left below.
You don't have to go right to the edge of
the image.
Once you work your way all around right
click the Lasso tool to join
the beginning and end of your selection.
The result should look like the image on
the right below.

Open up a new image 500 x 400
Transparent background.
Right click on the titlebar of the
"Scarlet" image and
Select COPY from the options.
Right click on the titlebar of the blank
image and
select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the
options.
OK... the image is too big...
Go to IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 60%
Use these settings

I then went to IMAGE >>> MIRROR
(You don't have to if you don't wish.)
Then, using the MOVER TOOL positioned the
image
in the bottom left corner as shown below.

Open up the FLOWER tube you saved.
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on Layer 1 to activate.
(IN PSP8: Click on
Raster 1 to activate.)
Right click on the titlebar of the
"Flower" tube and
Select COPY from the options.
Right click on the titlebar of the blend
image and
select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the
options.
Go to IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 90%
Same settings as before EXCEPT
Change the "Percentage of
Original" to 90%
Position the flower to the right of
"Scarlet"
as shown below

Go to COLOURS >>> GREY SCALE
(In PSP8: GO TO
IMAGE >>> GREYSCALE)
Now we need to change the image back to
16 million colours
so we can continue working on it.
Go to COLOURS >>> INCREASE
COLOUR DEPTH >>> 16 MILL COLOURS
(24Bit)
(In PSP8: Go to
IMAGE >>> INCREASE COLOUR DEPTH
>>> 16 MILL COLOURS (24Bit)
Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on Layer 1 to activate.
(IN PSP8: Click on
Raster 1 to activate.)
FLOOD FILL with WHITE
Go to EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE
EFFECTS >>> TEXTURE
Locate the 'lace6" texture
Use these settings

Click OK

Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE
>>> MERGE ALL (Flatten)
Save as a
.jpg file.
Your image is now ready to frame
or use in any way you wish
