Go to your COLOUR PALETTE
Close your upper (foreground) box
and change the lower (background) box
to SOLID PURPLE




Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Select your TEXT TOOL
Use the same settings
EXCEPT
this time we want the letter "U" (Upper case)
Click towards the bottom of your image when selecting the TEXT TOOL
Click OK

Your "U" shape should look like th image below
Do the following:

1: Drag the centre side nodes outwards so that the edges
are the same distance on each side from the side panels.

2: Drag the TOP centre node upwards level with the top of
the PURPLE pattern on the side panels.

3: Drag the BOTTOM centre node downwards level with
the bottom of the PURPLE pattern on the side panels.




Your image should look like this.



Go to IMAGE >>> FLIP

Go to LAYERS >>> CONVERT TO RASTER LAYER

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Right click on Raster 2
and select DELETE from the options

Click on Raster 3 to activate

With your MAGIC WAND
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Feather = 0
Sample Merged = UNCHECKED

Select the purple shape
Flood fill with the 'mdh_tile003' pattern

Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 20
Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Use the same settings as before
Click OK



With your MAGIC WAND
Select the OUTER transparent area
Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER

Flood fill with GOLD pattern

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 3
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT CLEAR

DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Click in the CENTRE transparent area
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 2.40

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT



Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on Raster 3

With your MAGIC WAND
Click in the CENTRE transparent area

Go to LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER
Flood fill with the GOLD pattern

Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
Go to EDIT CLEAR
DESELECT

With your MAGIC WAND
Click in the CENTRE transparent area
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 60
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE




With your MAGIC WAND
Select the OUTER transparent area

Go to your LAYER PALETTE
Click on Raster 1 to open and activate

Flood fill with the SOLID PURPLE

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D EFFECTS >>> INNER BEVEL
Use the same settings
Click OK

Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK


DESELECT



Go to SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL
Go to SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> CONTRACT = 3
Go to SELECTIONS >>> INVERT
Go to EDIT CLEAR

Flood fill with GOLD pattern

Go to EFFECTS >>> 3D Effects >>> Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal offsets = 1
Colour = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0

Repeat Drop Shadow effect changing
Vertical & Horizontal Offsets to - ( minus ) 1
Click OK

DESELECT

Go to LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE

You can now save your image as a .psp (Tube) file for later use.
