STAGE 2

OMAHA to ORLANDO

I was in excruciating pain, caught some sort of infection, but said nothing since Mum was choked up with a really bad cold. We arrived at the Hyatt about 7:30pm, starving! We'd been on the road, one way or another since early morning. By the time we sat down for dinner it was 9:15pm., we usually eat around 6pm so our stomachs were thinking our throats were cut *S* I had the best bowl of clam chowder I've ever tasted but should have stopped at that because I had no room for the main course that I'd ordered. The meals were HUGE!

Here we were in sunny Florida for 6 days and it was freeeeezing too. I couldn't believe it! It didn't stop us though, we toddled off to EPCOT the next day and had a super time.

The day after our destination was the Kennedy Space Centre which was fantastic. Jared just loved it but then he got sick.... he had diahorrea. Lord, we were a sorry lot!! Again I was wondering if this trip was going to be an expensive mistake. I ended up going to the hospital because I couldn't stand the pain any longer and was told that they had tested my urine and I had everything that could be had! At least I was getting my money's worth *S*. I left the hospital $250 poorer! That was almost $500 Australian. Thank God I had the foresight to take out insurance for the first time ever.

We slept in the next day until 10am, got my prescription filled and started the medication. I took Jared to Animal Kingdom by myself because Mum was too sick. It was a good idea because she seemed so much better when we returned. I too was on the road to recovery by the end of the day.

We discovered a Buffet at one of the hotel's restaurants and finally managed to help ourselves to a NORMAL sized meal. The other meals were so huge and we wasted so much food. I can't work out how these places make a profit with the amount of waste. The meals could be sized down by 2/3rds and still be too much to consume.

Next day we hit a Mall to get some walking shoes and then did Magic Kingdom. Jared wasn't too fussed. His Dad phone that night and that cheered him up.

Our last day in Orlando we went to MGM and Jared enjoyed that. He was fascinated with the whips at the western show. Wanted one of course!

Confirmed the flight for the next day for our trip to New York... everything appeared in order, maybe things were going to change for the better as far as flights were concerned.
