Ms Gillard also warned Queensland's struggling tourism industry that it may go without new assistance if Labor cannot pass its planned company tax cut and small business tax perks.

The PM defended handouts to the car industry, but ruled out any industry-specific scheme for the tourism sector.

She suggested the Government could tweak visa rules and training programs to help tourism operators attract foreigners and get the workers they need.

"What we are trying to do for the tourism industry, which in tourism centres across Queensland is very much a small business industry ... is get them a tax cut," Ms Gillard said.

She's so full of crap!!!!

Thought this was worth keeping *S*

Dear Ms. Gillard,
Please find below our suggestion for fixing Australia 's economy.Instead of giving billions of dollars to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan..

You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 10 million people over 50 in the work force.
Pay them $1 million each severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire.....Ten million job openings - unemployment fixed
2) They MUST buy a new Australian car......Ten million cars ordered - Car Industry fixed
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage..... -Housing Crisis fixed
4) They MUST send their kids to school/college/university .....-Crime rate fixed
5) They MUST buy $100 WORTH of alcohol/tobacco a week .....and there's your money back in duty/tax etc
6) Instead of stuffing around with the carbon emissions trading scheme
that makes us pay for the major polluters, tell the greedy bastards to reduce their pollution emissions
by 75% within 5 years or we shut them down.

It can't get any easier than that!
P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back
their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances

Also .Let's put the pensioners in jail and the criminals in a nursing home.

This way the pensioners would have access to showers, hobbies and walks.

They'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment,
wheel chairs etc and they'd receive money instead of paying it out.

They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helpedinstantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.

Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes and bring their meals and snacks to their cell.

They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.

They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counselling, pool and education.

Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, PJ's and legal aid would be free, on request.

Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens.

Each senior could have a PC a TV radio and daily phone calls.

There would be a board of directors to hear complaints,
and the guards would have a code of conduct that would be strictly adhered to.

The criminals would get cold food, be left all alone and unsupervised.

Lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week.

Live in a tiny room and pay$250.00 per week and have no hope of ever getting out.

And another......

THE AUSTRALIAN CONSTITUTION

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq ...
Why don't we just give them ours?
It was drawn up by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for centuries and we're not using it anymore.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS

The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse or Parliament,
is this -
You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal',
'Thou Shalt Not CommitAdultery'
and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians......
It creates a hostile work environment.

25 MAY 2012 - SUNDAY

Saturday... shopping day... I wasn't fit to go so sent Jason with the list.  Dragged myself out of bed to scan everything and put them away. Jason made dinner and I went back to bed.  He worked on my computer yesterday, Sunday, and got it working again... no idea what he did... don't care.

I still feel like crap, I'm supposed to go for a blood test today but that's not going to happen.. I have until Wednesday at the latest so I'll see what happens. I don't want to spread my germs to the nurses who take the blood.

I'll do what I can over the next few days and hope this cold subsides. I'm so fed up being continually sick!!!! So much I want to do and can't! Even typing this is an effort... keep pressing 2 keys at a time because of my twisted fingers... thank God for spell check so it's legible.

26 MAY 2012 - MONDAY

My computer isn't working... Jason is going to sort it out as soon as he can.

28 MAY 2012 - WEDNESDAY

Jared (grandson) as he does every year shared his cold with me (not a lot he can do not to share).
Unfortunately because of all the prescribed drugs I've been on over the years I have no immune system.  This time it hit hard. I thought last week it was going but it hit with a vengeance over the weekend.  Watery eyes, runny nose and incessant coughing, lack of sleep even though I spent most of my time in bed. I feel like I've been in a boxing match and lost. I still feel like crap but if I don't check my mail I'll lose some of it, Optus only allows so much space.

It never rains but it pours with me!!! I couldn't close anything open on my computer....  I pressed all the "F" keys 1 through 12, the escape key, the delete key, you name it I hit it !!! The more keys I hit ... more things opened that I couldn't close.  I felt like crap and was getting even more frustrated. I finally managed to get everything closed... hit my Windows key and using the arrows keys got the computer shut down and went to bed. Jason was already asleep so I couldn't get his help.

30 MAY 2012 - FRIDAY

My cold is subsiding slowly, the rain is off today so it looks like I'll go to get my blood sucked this afternoon.
Oh joy!! *S

Things are looking up!!
I just called Optus to pay for my Email account in advance.. got put through to a call centre in India.
Now, you're probably thinking..."how can things be looking up when a call centre is involved?"

Ok... I tried to purchase pre paid vouchers on line... ended up with an error message.
So I called by phone so I could make the purchase manually with their help.
After 3 tries pressing umpteen buttons and getting frustrated,
I finally got this 'gentleman' who actually knew what I was talking about.
He tried to provide me with the 3 vouchers to take me through to the end of September
and charge them to my credit card BUT he also ended up with an error.
So what did he do????????

He gave me 2 months worth of vouchers for FREE!!!!
How lucky can one get??? *S*
He said it was Optus' policy not to have clients lose connection because they're having problems at their end.

Let's hope the same thing happens when I try to purchase vouchers at the end of August!!!! LOL!
They owe me big time anyway because they used to charge me through the nose when they were my internet provider.

One good thing about being sick is not having to make meals...
Jason has been great!
I started putting a lasagne together last night and he took over from me... told me to go sit down!!

OK... I'm off to create some more tuts. I better get moving!
