Brendan passed away on

~Saturday 17th July 1999~

after a long 21 month battle with Lorenzo's Disease

Brendan was only 11 years old.

Don't be sad and filled with grief,
For me, my passing brings relief.
Lift your hearts and with me share
The joy I feel in the Lord's tender care.

My life was short but full and treasured
By me and those I leave behind,
If love, laughter and friendship be measured
Then I had the best of each kind.

Remember me, but please don't mourn,
We'll be together again one day,
In Heaven, like me, you'll be reborn
The Lord will show you the way.

I didn't know Brendan but I have a son and grandchildren of my own and I know how I would feel if this happened to one of them. Life is short enough for most of us, but to be snatched away from one so young, full of hopes and dreams, is especially devastating for his family and friends.
