Clean Up Windows XP

We all know the basics of cleaning up our computers, such as clearing cookies and the cache. Here is an additional clean up process that many people don't know about.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step 1
Click on your Windows Desktop's "Start" button in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

Step 2
Click on the "Run" option (near the bottom of the Start Menu).

Step 3
A new, small, window will open up and you will see a text box.

Step 4
If anything text is currently in the text box, delete it.

Step 5
Inside of text box type the following: %temp% (percent sign followed by the word "temp" followed by a percent sign)

Step 6
After typing %temp% in text box, hit the "OK" button.

Step 7
A new explorer window will open and you will see files in it.
It is safe to delete all files in this folder.

Step 8
After you delete all items in file, you're finished with this process. Now you have increased the amount of free disk space on your computer and it may run faster! You may want to perform this cleanup about once a week.
