How to Adjust the Font Size On Your Computer Monitor

By TriviaCollector, eHow Member

Every computer monitor is set to a specific resolution. Frequently you find yourself scrolling back and forth because you can’t view the whole page due to your settings. Here is a quick and easy remedy that resolves the viewing problem. Everyone you share this tip with will thank you, so spread the word!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • All you need to perform this "magic trick" is a working computer with a monitor and a mouse.

Step 1
Hold down the control (ctrl) key on the keyboard. If you are a novice and not used to doing anything fancy with your computer, this will be the lower left key on most keyboards.

Step 2
Use the finger roll wheel on top center of the mouse to increase or decrease font size. Roll upward to increase and downward to decrease. Roll back and forth until you find the setting that meets your needs. Remember to keep the control key depressed the whole time, or the finger roll will merely scroll up and down the page

Step 3
You may adjust the size as many times as you want to without changing the original document!

Tips & Warnings

  • Changing the font size on your monitor will not affect the original document, nor will you have restore the font to its original size before exiting the document; this affects the monitor only and you may print or exit without having to save.
  • This does not work on all pages, depending upon the specific setting for the page, but it works on most of them.
